I can take criticism, just not from someone who has no intention of ever buying this game or a Wii U.

And the dlc is free, which you keep ignoring. And it will come very soon after the game releases.

You can backtrack all you want about what you said, but you didn't even know about Splatzones either. You don't sound the least bit informed, especially if you're going to complain about what amiibo unlocks. The people who buy those amiibo do it for the figurines.

You have no idea if I have the intention to buy a Wii U or not, I've said on several occasions that I'm considering getting a Wii U for Zelda U at one point.

It is entirely irrelevant that the DLC is free, the point is that it will not be there when the game releases, thus it will not be reviewed, thus Nintendo is essentially selling people half the game on faith. The first 5 maps may be great, but who knows how the new maps will play, maybe they'll majorly suck, maybe the new weapons will completely break the balance, maybe the new rulesets that are going to be introduced to ranked battle will just be annoying. All those things are what reviews should normally tell people, but you can completely forget that in this case, unless sites decide to make final review updates once everything is out (which I'll doubt they will).

Splatzones is not going to be available from the start, since it has to be unlocked first, that may just take a couple hours but it could also take a couple days or even longer. And what does it matter why people buy the Amiibos (not that you could in anyway proof that there aren't people that want the Amiibos for the game content), point is that the content is there and can only be unlocked via those Amiibos, so should anyone want those missions and minigames then they'll have to pay up, it is by definition Day 1 on disc DLC. People complained about cosmetic DLC in Evolve and easy Fatalities in MKX, so criticising this is completely fair.

You should know by now that people don't buy games based on metacritic scores.

Otherwise Bayonetta 2 would be over 3 million by now. Oh and that game is also super short and repetitive btw, yet it has 92% on metacritic.

I know the dlc will be good, it's Nintendo lol. The tower mode they showed off looked awesome.

Amiibo are bought for the figurines, not for the useless content they unlock. It's a non-issue. If they ever lock something important behind amiibo I'll be the first to complain.

What you getting on day one:

  • 3 multiplayer game modes

I was under the impression that only two multiplayer modes would be available on day one. One local mode, one online mode. Splat Zones is not a day one mode, if you were counting that one.

How do you know that? Maybe they reach enough people on day one.

Please go ahead and show me where in that post I was talking about Metacritic, I said reviews. I don't care about all the people that buy games on faith alone, if someone's not willing to inform himself then he fully deserves to get screwed over, but in this case it's the people that actually do want to know what they're getting themselves into before making such a purchase that are being screwed.

And you know that Nintendo's DLC for their first ever TPS multiplayer shooter is going to be good, because it's Nintendo... well then I know how I'd categorize you.

You're still just deflecting, it is Day 1 DLC. It doesn't matter how "useless" it is, it's still just that and in fact in Splatoons case this DLC is actually more severe than most Day 1 DLC that other companies put out because it is actual gameplay content compared to just cosmetic DLC.

If you want to call me a fanboy at least have the guts to do it in a direct manner.

You were talking about reviews, metacritic is the place where all those reviews get collected into one place. My point still stands.

Nobody is being screwed, the game rose up the ranks on Amazon in all kinds of countries because of the Global Testfire demo. People obviously liked what they played. And did you know that the people who played the demo and bought the game digitally get a discount? Of course you didn't know that.

Nintendo EAD has a pretty good reputation for delivering quality content, so damn right I'm going to trust them. Anything wrong with that? I've actually played their first ever TPS multiplayer shooter and it's damn good. Have you?

I'm not deflecting anything. Amiibo are a non-issue. People buy them for the figurines. If you really want to complain about Nintenùdo responding to the market then blame Activision. They're the ones who invented this toys to life concept. Oh and they DO lock important gameplay elements behind these figurines. Nintendo doesn't.

But if you don't believe me, feel free to make a thread about why people buy amiibo, be sure to include a poll. ;)

Why not? They have very low expectations just in case. My bet is 5 days, but it can happen the first day.

To be fair GTA V released without its online mode and that game broke all kinds of records critically and commercially.

I have never seen someone so aggressively miss the point.

You talked about metacritic scores, I'm not talking about scores but the actual content of the reviews.

People have not played all maps or tried all weapons and gamemodes, have you heard of a little game called Destiny, that was also a game where tons of people were sold on the demo just to then be disappointed by the full game. And how does that discount thing help your case? That's just another way of locking people into the game while not knowing about how a lot of the game content is going to turn out.

And jesus your continuous Amiibo deflecting is getting tiring, Splatoon has ingame content locked behind a $30 paywall, you can continue your people don't buy Amiibo for the game application mantra all you want, but you can not change what is a simple fact.

You're the only one complaining here anyway. I didn't see Mario Kart 8 get this much hate for using amiibo. Or any other Nintendo game for that matter. No one will feel screwed over free dlc. Well, maybe you will, but then again, you don't have a Wii U, so your opinion is worthless to me.

That $30 "paywall" includes 3 figurines which you keep ignoring. If you want to complain about amiibo then make a thread about it. This is about Splatoon's post-launch plans, not your petty complaints against Nintendo/amiibo.

Let's just ignore you then.
