First day sales are hard to come by in the Americas but I'd bet Super Mario Brothers 3, Pokemon, Super Mario 64 or a couple other iconic games made by Nintendo had better debuts.

Could it outsell Halo 3 worldwide fist week? It would need more than 1 million in others 1st week for that feat.
I am shocked by SSBB numbers, Japan was the biggest surprise for me. I wonder how much did Nintendo spend on hype and advertisement.

If you look at previous SSB installments you will find out that it hardly sells 1m lifetime in Europe (SSB 0.65M, SSBM 1.14M). Halo 3's record is safe... until FFXIII ;P
