TW3 looks like it's going to be epic. Despite that, I can take my fanboy goggles off and say there was a definite downgrade. It may be the consoles' fault, I don't know, but it would've been nice for the game to at least deliver on the promised visuals for the PC. Everyone wants to blame the consoles, but I bet that even for PC, making a game this ambitious would have cost the developers a fortune they could never make back. It's open world and expecting all those kind of details is just unreasonable (unless you expect the game to have GTA5's budget and sales). I'm looking forward to the game, though I am somewhat cautious since I didn't play the first two, but I also know a downgrade when I see one. Understandable (and not as big a downgrade as some other high profile games), but fanboys shouldn't ignore it and act like everyone on this thread is straight hating. It's just too obvious the developers didn't fully deliver on what they promised.

Gameplay looks fun, don't really care much about the rest. I mean, it still looks nice and doesn't look like it would hurt our eyes...

And reviewers will still say "OMFG AMAZING!!!!!". Even on consoles.

yeah it surely was downgraded, but it still looks amazing and like a fucking awesome game.

Seriously

Some of these replies here are so sad. Just recently we had threads with new gameplay footage of the game in action and everyone was praising it for how amazing the game looked. Now everybody wants to act like they've been cheated out of an amazing graphical experience all of a sudden. No. You haven't.

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this pattern emerging, especially on here, the game was getting praised out of the ass the moment it mentioned it was going to other platforms regardless of the other platforms not knowing the history of the game or what it's about, the visuals were the first thing to praise and now it's obvious a downgrade has happened and hardly anyone ehre wants to admit what the cause of the problem is as to why there was a downgrade, hell there's already one user beating the drums of it being the very platform the game spawned on entirely being at fault, a man never blames his tools.

I'm definitely disappointed with the downgrade, when I thought CDPR I expected good things, the trailers from 2013 looked amazing but as time went on I noticed them showing the game looking less and less stellar, people have already pointed it out and then we have the "graphix dun matter" crowd coming in full swing, if graphics didn't matter then why buy a current gen system or upgrade your PC?, seriously those people should listen to themselves for once, especially those that praise graphics and turn around and claim they don't matter or m"it's ok", we shouldn't be settling for less in this day and age, settling for less breeds laziness.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Even if it wasnt downgraded, hardly anyone would be able to play it at that setting.

It doesnt make sense for them to waste resources for a few thousand gamers who could have run it like that. They should allocate resources based on expected sales of which I think will be atleast 90% mid range PC and console gamers.

It's a pretty serious downgrade. It went from looking incredible to looking merely good to average (there are some really ugly details and poor lighting in the final product). It won't change much with sales I expect, not many people pay attention it seems. If it were a game I cared about I would be upset probably, but not surprised. It is a shame that they downgraded the PC version however. Maybe they will patch in better quality for PC later, but that is probably slim to none for odds. For me I went from minimal interest to zero interest, so that's good I guess.

Yeah, it would be funny...if it was not sad.

People seem to forget that back in 2011 EPIC had Samaritan demo, and that Tim Sweeney said in his talk at DICE 2012 they need 2.5TFLOPS. They also said that Samaritan is a love letter to hardware manufacturers. Has everyone already forgot why they had to pull SVOGI out of the Unreal 4 when consoles were finally revealed?

Simple fact is that CDPR is not the only dev that expected more of 8th gen consoles...and simple fact is that console market is crucial for AAA games, and one just cannot make PC version vastly superior to them, and not for technical reasons.

Honestly, if Capcom can't pull yet what they've shown in reveal trailer for Deep Down in game that's all in closed quarters, I'd be really surprised to see open-world game doing it.

But it's not like we haven't know this for a while now - IIRC even one of their former employees said a long time ago downgrades are happening.

This post makes me sad.

No way I'm buying my most anticipated title for the 8th gen now!

Seriously though; this is what mods are for in PC games...
