Forza Horizon 2 released in September 2014 and has held the highest Metacritic score for Car Racing games since its release. With the recent release of Project Cars, i was thinking this is the game to dethrone Forza Horizon 2 from best Metacritic Car Racer. Forza Horizon 2 has done well in reviews and sits on a healthy 86 Meta even after a (Cough Bias) reviewer gave it a 2/10. Project Cars has a good opener here with that advantage however from what i am hearing with the the game is that its not very polished. Project Cars sits on an 85 Meta and still has alot of reviews to come.

Will Project Cars be the new king of Car Racing since Forza Horizon 2?

I am having doubts.

Two way different types of games.

pCARs needs to be compared with Forza 5 or 6 late this year.

They are totally different game. Plus compared to "simulator" type games like PCars I would pick forza horizon 2 (I dont own XBox though). Some of some friends who are playing PCars are saying the game is pretty boring.

Two different types of games plus Horizon 2 is still more fun since not everything is accessible from the start there is actually a reason to play the game.

Project Cars and Forza Horizon 2 are both Car Racers in my book, same goes for Drive Club and Forza 5 and GT6. Didnt mean to confuse some of you but im talking best reviewed Car Racer (meaning in general)

Ill make another thread for Car Simulators once GT7 and FM6 etc arrive.

They both feature cars if you want to compare them against a racing sim like Forza 5, Gran Turismo 6 or Project cars. It's a different genre.

MK8 is amazing however its a Kart game not a Car Racer. MK8 is defiantly the best Racing game on the market.

Game has BWM cars which handle as much like real world or Sim racers cars as the NoS powered line up in Forza Horizon.
