Forums - Gaming - Giving FFXIII a Second Chance On PC.

I originally played a third (or so) of FFXIII in 2010 on my PS3. I was quite dissapointed with the game at the time, and always had endeavors to finish it, but never did as I became busy with other things and I took a bit of a hiatus from console games. Then when I moved away for college I didn't bring my PS3 with me so I never got to finish the game. Recently (last September/October) I replayed FFXII and I found that I enjoyed the game A LOT more when I had different expectations. I didn't care that the game was semi real-time since I enjoyed said battle system with other games, and I found the story a lot more interesting while I felt it was boring when I was younger. Since FFXIII was released on Steam, I've been meaning to give it the same treatment. I realize that I kind of rushed through the third of the game that I did play, and have since read quite often that it's best to read the lore and you'll enjoy the story more for it. I know what I should expect combat-wise, and character-wise as well. Mostly though, I want to play FF XIII and FFXIII-2 so that I can be caught up for Lightning Returns, which looks to have potential to be a great game for me, from what I've seen of the reviews and gameplay videos.

FFXIII is the only mainline Final Fantasy game I haven't completed, so I am definitely going to correct that. After my finals end next week, I will start playing the game a lot more and post my opinions about it and what has changed with regards to them.

I'm sure I'll do the same at some point... At some point reeeeaally far into the future.

4 ≈ One

I restarted it once they issued the resolution fix patch and... it is just brutally repetitive so far.

The story isn't particularly interesting, the characters are pretty bland, it has long, extremely repetitive segments that just keep going... but it is pretty.

My biggest problem with the game is that the battles are so slow and boring. Slow with auto battle disabled and boring with auto battle enabled. I do not like the battle system at all and prefer classic ATB. The music however is very good.

I love FF13 :3 one thing that's confused the fuck out of me is the story though XD it's not as bad as everyone says, but with FF being a very story heavy series it'd be nice to know what's actually happening in it... they give very vague hints at whats actually going on but it doesn't help much

Played to the end on X360, and while I don't think it was a complete waste of time, it was often tedious and boring. The story had moments, but overall it was quite bad. I don't know if I'll ever replay it.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

One of the best JRPGs I played last gen. That's everything I have to say about it, really.

Addictive, fun and interesting. Lacked challenge and plot could be explained better, but other than that, awesome.

Ugh really wish they'd bring this trilogy to PS4/One...
COME ON SE!!!!!!!! Please port this come E3.

Hope you enjoy it. Loved one and two.

Hopefully you enjoy it more than i did. It was one of the worst things I have had the misfortune of playing.

I didn't like the story. Not the story itself, but the layout of the story. There were so many other things they could have done to made the story and characters more tolerable. I wish that the director would remix the game so the story lined up better. It would fix a lot of the confusion and could even possibly fix some hatred some people felt for the characters.
