It really depends on what you mean by "selling quite well".

 I am not counting games other than JRPGs.  each of the main games in the series sell in the hundreads of thousands which is really good for an JRPG series from a company other than Square enix and Level 5

'hundreds of thousands' isn't really a big number. When this game release on 360, It won't even break 20K first week and 50K LT.

 Microsoft probably paid them a few million dollars (at least enough to cover the development cost). Time exclusivity is almost useless in Japan, I don't even understand why they are still trying to throw money at Japanese people knowing they will get minimal return.

hardcore games in general other than established and popular franchises aren't selling too great. the japanese seem to be so into casual games right now(look at the sales of wii fit)

 in an interview with the developer, the person strongly implied that it will be only be time exclusive. (there's a thread here, but i can't find it, it's during GDC period. It will be on PS3, maybe even for Wii.

Oh yeah, nevermind that other Tales of game coming out on the Wii, right? They should throw another one out on the Wii only a few months after the release of ToS:KoR, right???

Now this pretty much means that the PS3 is the only system not to have a Tales of game. The current systems that have Tales of games are: PS2, PSP, DS, Wii (when ToS:KoR is released) and now the 360 when Vesperia is released.
