"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Now it just needs a Wii U release and it may sell another million.

READ. AGAIN. That number for GTA V is for Dec 31, they reported in their quarterly reports which was on feb 3. So yes, a little over a month! Nov 18 to Dec 31 2014.

You are on this sales website and you dont know about quarterly results? What?

edit: you are on this site since 2007! Wow dont tell me you dont know about these things?! As an example: Sony just announced PS4 sold 22.3M, that was up until march, not April 30.

Duuuuuuude. LOL!

So 1.5 months of prime holiday season and across two platforms equals "less than a month" in March/April on one platform? That's a very strange assertion to make to me, I believe that members who have been here about 4 years should know better.

Under the circumstances; it did great on Steam, let's not forget that the original released over 1.5 years before this and GTA was never a huge franchise on PC.

how much did rockstar make on this game ..any guesses?

No one's making that assertion but you. I'm just correcting OP who claimed the PC version is the fastest selling next gen version which isn't true. You can also look at it this way: the console versions sold faster in spite of the huge competition in the holiday season and in spite of being a remaster, PC version came out in a calm period, with every pc gamer waiting on it while the console version had already sold 35M prior to next gen.

GTA is also huge on PC (GTA4 sold 3.5M) but it's bigger on consoles.

The PC version is also a remaster, a late port of a year-old remaster at that, and releasing in a "calm" period outside holidays is not an advantage for anyone or any title, that's just common sense. What other huge, open world games released on PS4 and One during the holidays? You're almost making it sound as if the One and PS4 were at a disadvantage here, which is truly ridiculous.

My post was mostly aimed at the fact that you ridiculed a senior member for seemingly not knowing how sales work and then go on to compare 1.5 months of holiday sales on two platforms with less than one month on one platform (and only digital on Steam at that) outside of the holidays; this assertion was clearly yours since brought these figures and time periods up, I'm merely pointing out that it's a rather ridiculous comparison, so I am clearly not making that assertion.

Sorry i read you wrong, but that still doesnt change the fact that you are wrong. You are showing me Shipped numbers that doesnt = sales numbers.

The PC numbers are how many it sold on just steam alone in 2 weeks who knows how many it sold on other online stores or in retail stores but id imagine so far its at about 3 million id say by the end of the month it will hit 4-5 million since sales are still rising. I've already showed you how much GTA5 sold (Not shipped) on PS4+X1 in 1 month and its 3.7 million just cos it shipped 10 million doesnt mean it sold 10 million. You been here what 4-5 years? id think you would know that (To any mod if you ban me for saying that just look at his post)..

But do you acknowledge that you yourself are wrong? The PC version isn't the fastest selling version, hopefully you'll edit it out.

The console number is shipped at retail and digitally sold, you are right. But even so, the number being 10M means the actual sales are close to that. Not to mention the fact it is the highest reliable number we have for those versions.

Being released on the holidays is far more challenging(cuz far more games tryna get yo dollars) than in a calm period like April. On top of that, there were 35M people who bought it on last gen, so to get to 10M in just over a month, selling that game to the same audience, is to me great performance.

I've brought the console sales up because OP made a claim which was untrue, unless Rockstar announces the pc version exceeds 10M in the next 2 weeks, which clearly is not gonna happen. Steam has like more than 80% of the PC market share.

And no, I dont ridicule him, I'm perplexed someone who has been this long on this site didn't know about quarterly results and takes predictions from Pachter as true. Are you also not surprised? You should be, at least that bit about Pachter.

even wii u version f this game would sell well.
