So 1.5 months of prime holiday season and across two platforms equals "less than a month" in March/April on one platform? That's a very strange assertion to make to me, I believe that members who have been here about 4 years should know better.

Under the circumstances; it did great on Steam, let's not forget that the original released over 1.5 years before this and GTA was never a huge franchise on PC.

No one's making that assertion but you. I'm just correcting OP who claimed the PC version is the fastest selling next gen version which isn't true. You can also look at it this way: the console versions sold faster in spite of the huge competition in the holiday season and in spite of being a remaster, PC version came out in a calm period, with every pc gamer waiting on it while the console version had already sold 35M prior to next gen.

GTA is also huge on PC (GTA4 sold 3.5M) but it's bigger on consoles.

The PC version is also a remaster, a late port of a year-old remaster at that, and releasing in a "calm" period outside holidays is not an advantage for anyone or any title, that's just common sense. What other huge, open world games released on PS4 and One during the holidays? You're almost making it sound as if the One and PS4 were at a disadvantage here, which is truly ridiculous.

My post was mostly aimed at the fact that you ridiculed a senior member for seemingly not knowing how sales work and then go on to compare 1.5 months of holiday sales on two platforms with less than one month on one platform (and only digital on Steam at that) outside of the holidays; this assertion was clearly yours since brought these figures and time periods up, I'm merely pointing out that it's a rather ridiculous comparison, so I am clearly not making that assertion.
