I never said I wouldn't play it. I was just playing devil's advocate. I watched the whole direct today. I know it'll be a fun game. But like every story, there is always 2 sides to be adressed. We is done here I guess.

So, after watching Splatoon's preorders in Japan keep growing ang growing, do you think that XCX will keep its lead in Japan or will it be outsold quickly?

Splatoon will sell a lot better...

With the announcement that Splatoon has sold one million units already, what do you think now? Will Splatoon triumph over the mechs, or Xenoblade X will ultimately squash the squids?

Splatoon will probably win now.  I still think Xenoblade Chronicles X has a good chance to outsell its predecessor, depending on some mitigating factors.  But the fact is that XCX is looking to do roughly the same disappointing numbers in Japan as the first game, so it seems most of its potential lies in the west.  Splatoon, on the other hand, has had great success in Japan and success in the States plus a decent start in Europe.  XCX I think will land between 1.2 and 1.5mil.  Splatoon will pass 2mil with ease, not sure where it will land.

And then it became a massacre.

At this point I'd say we should be happy X even reaches that 1m number at all. Meanwhile Splatoon will cruise by 2m and maybe that 3-1 prediction by yvanjean will happen.

Well, i thought it was obvious. But the poll results amazes me. Just shows how far from reality 'forum's hardcore gamers' are.

I require a towel to wipe the egg off my face. And I'm pretty sure I heard Tbone rustling around in my kitchen last night, prolly cooking up some delicious crow. I'll have mine with ketchup, makes it a tad easier to swallow, crow actually ain't half bad!

Splatoon has the wider appeal, especially on Nintendo. Anything cartoony just does better with Nintendo. It's a pretty reliable trend going back as far as the gamecube.

I'm guessing Splatoon will hit about 1.7-2 million and Xenoblade will just hit around 1-1.2 million.
