What you said didn't make much sense. If it made so much sense then why has no other shooter game done the same?

I can't even recall a modern shooter game that only launched with 5 multiplayer maps and 2 online modes.

"its different" is not a valid argument.

I already explained myself, explaining the difference between community growth and player growth in a multiplayer vs singleplayer setting, but you chose to ignore it.

And the community can't grow by letting you unlock these multiplayer modes through showing skill in the available modes? You can lock them like how they lock the final world in Super Mario 3D World or DKC: TF, that's my point.

Besides, none of these modes look even remotely difficult. Nintendo is treating us as idiots and I don't like it.

No you don't, it's not available to you and you can't unlock it by showing skill. It will be automatically unlocked at an arbitrary release date.

An arbitrary release date that can be easily 5 days later, and so, all this drama will be alittle bit useless.

The thing is that on a year Splatoon can be more full of content that we could ever imagined before. You are grabbing to the fact that the game is short at first... but is going to grow very soon and it will be for free. It will be bigger than you were hoping, on the online side.

I don´t understand the reasons, I do hope that they give to the media an unlocked Splatoon version with all the stuff they already have. But other than that, this direct has show how long the life of this game can be and how much content can have in the future.

Also, btw, The single campaign mode has 28 levels, the same as Rainbow Curse, and thatñs a 6/7 hour game. I think that you can be happy with a good 5/7 hour single campaign + Turf war + Battle dojo for a week until they unlock 2 new modes. And then I think you can wait with all the new stuff until August. You are having a rage now. It could be bad for the meta scores, but they are not going to be bad anyway, there´s easily enough stuff for you to be playing 20 hours until the new unlock, they know the dlc is free, they already played ranked mode, the chore mechanic is brilliant, and everything is very polish, it´s not going to flop on meta, don´t get anxious about that.

Not understanding why one would get upset over this. Content is being delayed sure, but it's still going to be there, and this way they can make more content than there would be otherwise. If you absolutely must have all content available immediately out the box, you can simply wait, you don't have to buy games day 1.

That would indeed not be an issue if this was not the first promising game to release this year on the Wii U. 5 months into the year.

First of all, if it unlocked in a person by person basis, it would likely be a ghost town for a while, and would screw with the community. Also, Nintendo has control of when to release the new maps, and it seems that they are planning on releasing the all throughout the summer.

Second of all, Nintendo isn't treating anyone like idiots and the fact that you are suggesting that makes it sound like you are fishing for complaints. I've explained one reason for this multiple times and the other reason is obviously increased longevity.

Your vitriol is getting ridiculous. I think you need to chill out.

I'm kind of with Samus and Spemanig on this one, though maybe a little less emotionally invested because this game never really interested me anyway.

I really don't get the need for this staggered release, which it sort of is, I don't even know what to call it. I don't like where this is going. The trend of keeping stuff for updates and releasing incomplete games is toxic and pointless, and it has reached Nintendo. Everything they talked about adding is stuff that should have been in the game at release but isn't for an arbitrary reason that they can't even solidly explain without a cheap excuse. It's like Day One DLC, without it actually coming Day One.

Yeah the only thing we can do is wait until the big August update and hope X gets localized before then.

Because that's somehow Splatoon's fault...

And without it costing you anything.

It is Nintendo's fault.

2015 looks to be worse than 2013 and 2014, unbelievable.
