I really don't understand why it should matter. If they want an all male party, fine. If they want an all female party, fine. If they want a combination of every possible gender and sexual orientation, fine.

Gender politics should have no bearing on what kind of story someone should be able to tell, and while their reasoning is a little spotty in places, i'm glad to see they're not caving in to pressure.

I agree.  I'm tired of gender/sex politics.

Annoys me in games like Dragon Age or Bioware mainly games where somehow in my small party of like 8 I have someone from like every race, male, female, aliens, gay, straight, transgender, ect.  Yea like thats realistic.  Somehow out of the millions in the world or whatever is the case (trillions in mass effect) the small handful of people saving the world/universe manages to encompase so many different things.

More realistically it would be like 10 dudes who are all the same race and sexual orientation, ect.  Now yes that is boring.  But the insane variety they try to pull is so unrealistic.

But yeah, I'd really wish to play with Luna(black haired girl) and Stella. Square finally has good looking female characters again and they won't let us play as them, that's just WRONG. Make up for the failure that was Lightning and Vanille.

I can picture all of them going Brokeback Mountain once in a while. I bet it gets lonely on the road.

I thought that was why we stopped off at Cindy's, the car BS was just an excuse :D

Maybe when guys are teens they act different around girls lol. When in a comfort zone with the opposite sex everyone is themselves so this reasoning is a joke. The main time it can cause issues in a group atmosphere is if one is attracted to another, but that's still generally only initially. Since these "people" will be traveling together I'm sure they would all know each other well enough that there would be no issue.
She's not a sex symbol? My ass! Look at that F'n cleavage! Not sure if he has seen many female mechanic before, but they generally wear a pair of overalls and are dirty, not shoving their tits in your face...

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Characters should be whatever race, gender, etc that suits the plot and the story they desire to accomplish. Adding "token" characters is pointless and kind of pathetic honestly.

Necessary joke

Nintendo and PC gamer

Yes Cindy's design is not even close to being realistic. What will the humongous dinosaurs think?
Sike I kid. Although I do think her clothing is rather ridiculous for mechanic work but whatever it's Final Fantasy.
As long as there is no female equivalent of X-2's brother then I don't mind what they do with female characters.

I couldnt help but laugh at him saying Cindy isnt supposed to be erotic. Has he looked at that cleavage?! Her boobs are almost out.

As for the game beeing about 4 guys, i dont mind. We got enough Lighting for a lifetime. I apreciate the break from female characters.

she's dressing for herself not for you or any man

Erm... "she" does not have a will of her own.

Good to see they're are not changing the game's original vision only to please some people.

fair enough i'm just saying that the character is modelling strong independent women that do not need or want men like you objectifying them

therefore she dresses for herself not for attention

its kind of funny how its the same people who make this argument to dismiss claims that women dress scantily to get attention in real life then when it comes to video game characters who are of course modelled after real people and their intentions the claim suddenly evaporates
