Well, no. I seriously doubt that they can produce enough consoles for any game to do this. So, the ultimate overriding barrier is a logistical one. The second largest barrier is the fact that PS4 will continue to sell, making the actual number of consoles needed to perform this feat unattainable.

The US and UK are completely different though. In my opinion if the PS4 doesn't get a price cut for the holiday season then the XBO could take the lead in both markets.

By take the lead you mean week to week right? Because I can't see the Xbox overtaking the PS4 in total sales in just one holiday period, the gap is just too big.

Obviously I don't think it'll happen right away but I think it can close the gap by a lot. Maybe to the point that the gap is almost nonexistent.

No, MS threw everything AND the kitchen sink to reach the PS4 last year and it didn't; yes it basically cut the gap by half but it will probably be near the same size gap before going into the holiday season by looking at the NPD. and if Sony does cut the price this year, then it's a definite no

Its not that people hate MS... its more like no one rationally believes that something that unlikely is going to happen based on the available data. Microsoft can't receive any more handicaps. It has to perform like a contender to be considered one.

I see the X1 having a few good weeks when it comes out in the US, but eventually things will settle back on the current routine.
PS4 will also have a rebound with Uncharted 4, wich might void that earlier gain. Overall, i dont think it will make a big difference.
