Forums - Nintendo - Sakurai calls DLCs these days a scam

In general I don't like DLCs. They make games cost crazy amount of cash. I mean, just look how much does the Mass Effect Trilogy cost at this point!

I think CD Projekt RED is the best when it comes to DLCs. They made a couple for Witcher 1 and released them all FOR FREE. We have Witcher 3 coming out now and we already know there will be 2 big DLCs, we know their prices and how many hours of extra gameplay they will offer. The fact they pushed the launch of the game back also tells us that it's not the case that DLCs are already done on release. Clear, good policies all the time. Fair treatment of the customer, no disrespectful cash grabs. I approve.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

i think Paradox is making better DLC, the EU4 DLC is just to good, and they still improve the game after 1 and  a half year- and you can all play together mp just one needs the dlc.

Nintenddo isn't there looking for your family or its interest... they are tacking care of their pockets. The way they do that is launching games that you can safely buy without researching, because if it haves cartoon graphics it will be kid friendly. If it doesn't them you have to see classification or review to see if it's appropriated.

Games are rated / classified. You don't need to use a graphical style to ensure the consumer knows it is family friendly, the consumer just has to look at the rating... Was Konkers Bad Fur Day kid friendly?  Cartoony graphics, check + adult content, check = M for mature rating

No one said Nintendo isn't trying to make money.  To make money is the goal of nearly every company.

So you think Nintendo (who has made mature games in the past as exampled above) makes only the types of games they do to appeal just to the family market?

Conkers is Rare IP not Nintendo, as well as Goldeneye and several other more mature series... what I'm saying is that the Nintendo from Wii onwards (when HD "realistic" graphics were possible) haven't released any cartoon game that was mature from what I recall. And Nintendo overall is family friendly, that doesn't mean they care or look for your family interest. They aren't any better or worse than the other companies, they just keep an image that helps them get money.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Conker was made when Nintendo owned 49% of Rare.

Under MS the Conker remake was censored, under Nintendo not.

So it was 51% Rare, making it rare game and the IP carried over.

Anyway, Nintendo doesn't care about anyone family.

Nintendo isn't a single entity, you don't know what the developers of the games care for. Some people are passionate about things other than money.

The Nintendo is a company, and if someone is saying the company cares about your family them the answer must address the company as a whole... and funny I haven't seem you answering when people were saying things about nintendo as company that was favourable to them... well do whatever you want. Nintendo is a company and its first objective is money.

Yes, and they want to convince you of giving your money to them by releasing quality games. Not by shady business practices like a lot of third party companies.
