Games are rated / classified. You don't need to use a graphical style to ensure the consumer knows it is family friendly, the consumer just has to look at the rating... Was Konkers Bad Fur Day kid friendly? Cartoony graphics, check + adult content, check = M for mature rating No one said Nintendo isn't trying to make money. To make money is the goal of nearly every company. So you think Nintendo (who has made mature games in the past as exampled above) makes only the types of games they do to appeal just to the family market? |
Conkers is Rare IP not Nintendo, as well as Goldeneye and several other more mature series... what I'm saying is that the Nintendo from Wii onwards (when HD "realistic" graphics were possible) haven't released any cartoon game that was mature from what I recall. And Nintendo overall is family friendly, that doesn't mean they care or look for your family interest. They aren't any better or worse than the other companies, they just keep an image that helps them get money.
