Saw it at a preview on Sunday cos my bro owns a comic shop and I sometimes work in it.

I'm not one to go into great analytical detail but as an long time marvel fan ( not just of the current marvel cinematic universe )gotta say overall it was firkin great though I admit at times I had my doubts, esp through the first half (kinda thought it was business as usual to begin with)...by the time the end credits rolled it had won me over.
Another marvel/Disney Classic ...but haters still gonna hate

It was definately a slow start. And the obvious Whedon moments can kill any good production but some of the ending bits did make up for some of the earlier shortcomings.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Hmm, pie.

With so long to go until the US release, I would not spoil major plot points. Don't worry, plus well done. A spoiler free marvel movie life makes it even more worth while when you see the films (for fans at least). Watch Cap:Winter Soldier without spoilers gave me chills at times.

Hmm, pie.

here's a spoiler for you... antman made ultron not starks...stupid movie adaptation. they shoulda made thor a woman as well since he's a she now in the comic universe...lame ass marvel crap... batman vs superman better bring it

ok but moviegoers haven't met Hank Pym so him screwing up would be stupid.  What better way to hit where it hurts than having the most popular and original hero in the universe make its most deadly foe yet?  It also makes Ultron imitate Stark which is cooler than Pym to me since I always hated that character.  It gives Ultron more personality.

Captain America is technically (in this universe) the original, timeline wise. Human Torch should be the original, maybe he was he was at that Expo after all. Okay, so I get what you say and it's true for those who don't know the comics, having Pym do it would have been odd as he would be new. Yet, Ultron and Pym have a very close relationship in the comics, Pym's guilt over Ultron's creation is a huge part of Pym's character. Without that, Pym in the films will not be the same. They could have easily introduced him as the creator of the robots and there helping Stark or something.

But hey, I'm talking to RDJ himself so... none of that would happen. Did anyone see the question to RDJ in that press conference by the German journalist? about his trailer being longer than everyone elses? That was funny.

indeed lol.  Look I think this is a product of Iron Man's increased popularity.  They wanted to hit fans where it hurt and I am actually excited about how this will effect my character in the movies ahead.  Tony can deal with that same guilt in a different way.  That way we get the same theme but in a new light and with a new angle to keep things fresh instead of being a comic book retread.

Maybe you are right on one thing, the change in characters and therefore change in guilt. In the comics, Ultron has lasted however, this was once. Unless the effects remain, that guilt has already washed over Tony's arrogance. His character his being put through more than the rest, near death, neverous breakdowns etc. With Pym it is something that came to define his character overtime but he never had the arrogance or selfconfidence get over it, Stark will, sadly even at the cost of his friends/team.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but from what I can gather from all the trailers the Avengers team is basically getting largely swapped at the end of this film right? At least a few of them are getting replaced moving forward.

That just kinda irks me tbh. I mean they had spent all this time, and various single character movies setting up all these characters and finally throwing them together in the Avengers, and now that you did that and people loved it you just say "fuck it, at the end of 2 we'll make a new team with a bunch of people we only just introduced in that movie!" Why? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Just had to vent about that for a minute.....

Still looking forward to seeing this though. Love love love James Spader, so can't wait to see him as Ultron

true but this isn't the first time Tony has screwed up.  I think this perfectly feeds into the Civil War story in that Cap already wasn't crazy about the war profiteering and then Tony goes and tries to create the ultimate weapon again and nearly destroys the world?  That may be the straw that breaks the camel's back so instead of them going from nothing to killing each other Cap now has sufficient reason to want to pummel Tony's face in and a reason for Tony's stance on govt. control to change "if I can't do it right no one can"
