Fuck the drop rates in this game. Warping to the same place to kill the same three enemies over and over again for an hour isn't fun.

Worse is that they only appear at night, but unlike the first game where you could change the time at will, I have to hoof it to the nearest fucking base camp to skip the to night again.

Even worse it being thrown out into the wild to find a speckled flappygoat or some shit with no indication of where they are, and no follow ball.

I swear, as great as this game is at times, there are also times where it is unbelievably annoying.

What do you need? Maybe you need to destroy certain appendages.

I simply bought everything with online tickets during the story playthrough and use treasure sensors in the endgame. I actually didn't aim for enemy drops until the global nemesis enemies were gone two days ago and started with level 50 Skell weapons and materials for potential XX. The latter took around 30 minutes, so it's not that bad.

It's done now. I needed Electric Tentacle for the Day In The Life affinity mission.

My frustration was probably compounded by the horrible stinking hot weather here and the fact that I've probably played the game a bit too much over the last few days. I need a break from it, I reckon. Come back in a few days with a fresh head.

Like the name says it, you have to aim at the tentacles and it should drop it every time unless your team mates kill it before the appendage is destroyed.

Btw: the destruction of appendages can be fucking brutal, lol.

I was targeting the tentacle every time, but I was pretty overlevelled, so I was probably killing it too fast.

Okay, so I'd been avoiding Affinity Missions like the plague since I got one that forced me to go to Sylvalum when I'd only just reached Oblivia. (They really should have fixed this and not allowed you to join Affinity Quests you are not ready for, or at least let you back out of them)

Anyway, I finally got over my phobia and started doing them again, and now I see why I felt like the main plot was so thin; a lot of the character development is relegated to the Affinity Missions. Enjoying the game a lot more now.

For me it has always been the other way around, I do all the affinity missions I can before going into the main story, they are the best part of the game. I remember that mission in sylvalum and I remember swimming for a while to get there, it was a little annoying but once I got there I explored for a while and installed some probes.

I just finished that mission last night. Swam forever. Doing all I can before Chapter 5. LOVE THIS GAME.

Haha, we have more than 5 people here that swam to Sylvalum.
I made it on purpose to check if it's really open world or not.

And I hit over a million damage on foot today, Offensive Stance + tertiary cooldown Blossom Dance does wonders, lol. Played with another guy against Yggralith and we made over 10.000 tickets in less than 2 hours. I bought an Ares 90, but I'm still not level 60, lol.

EDIT 2.6 million now.

Be advised: the Ares can't be customized, and only comes with four arts. It IS incredibly powerful, but a custom skell armed with the superweapons you can find and build will outperform it. If you do stick with the Ares, you'll need to use augments to increase some of its stats, as it will otherwise get flattened by a few of the superbosses, and rely on luck for a handful of others.

I know that, but it's good for quick farming without crazy upgrades (especially that tyrant for the gas sacks and let's not forget Hartmut). I'll buy an Verus Kain later, I like light Skells the most and upgraded 350 Verus from the shop to 720 potential and 260 evasion. I already have most materials from hunting Xe-doms.

EDIT: I think it's Versus Cain or Wels in the English version, lol.

I am just starting Chapter 5.
I am currently at Level 20.
What level should I be (at this point in the game)?

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

NNID = RangerOne

Switch = SW-2393-3671-6907

20 is more than fine. I believe the missions each have a minimum level requirement: if you're at or about two levels ahead of that, you're usually more than fine.
