This can go 2 ways, it can be great like End of Time or it can be cringe worthly like The Last Hope. I'm not even kidding, TLH was so bad in voice acting and character's it stopped me playing, I had no investment at all. End of Time was a great game, even had trophies before trophies. :)

'Faithlessness'? What is wrong with just Faithless?

As someone whose only previous Star Ocean title had been Second Story- which I loved, back on the ol' original Playstation, the battle system was something I found simply fantastic- I did NOT like The Last Hope. xP Never played any of the others, though, so I wasn't sure whether Second Story was just (for me, at least,) an exceptional game amidst uninteresting dreck, or if The Last Hope just sucked by the standards of the series. Kind of nice to know that a fair number of folks seem to think The Last Hope was blegh as well.

Why would Sony pay NOT to have a game on one of their platforms? A sale is a sale and it shouldn't matter which platform its on since at the end of the day its still profit. That'd be so against the 10 year plan Sony was boasting last decade to try to actually diminish support in any way for the brand that demonstrated how long a console can get support on the market.

Codeveloping games with other companies means Sony is delivering on their promise of focusing more on their gaming division. They hired teams of developers to outsource and speed up the process of making games in exchange for exclusivity.

I'm aware that there's an unofficial source that claims SCEJ is working on the title too, but a link would be nice to tell if the two are indeed working together or if Sony is just publishing it.

Interesting, I'll keep and eye on this then. Do you know that Lemie or whatever her name was was meant to be 15 yrs old? No way was she that age...

From reviews, Second Story is considered the best but I've not played it, played End of Time first and really enjoyed it, the world we were put in was enjoyable while for The Last Hope, the world wasn't. This said, according to some reviews, TLH got higher marks than End of Time... they must have played it on mute.

Personally, I think Star Ocean 2 was by far the best in the series. But 3 is good too.

Now all we need is a new Valkyrie Profile to bring the old tri-Ace back.

lol and People thought it wasn't. Another RPG to look forward to with the number five in it.

I guess cross gen couldn't be helped. Seems the only difference these days is that PS3 is the 720p option and PS4 1080p.
