Forums - Gaming - About potential Wii HD games on Wii U

I keep seeing some people hoping to see some HD Wii games on Wii U, like Mario Galaxy games, Zelda Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, Metroid Trilogy...but relle there a zero chance to something like that.

First, Wii U is Wii backward compatibility, you can already play all Wii games on Wii U, so there is not chance that Nintendo will release HD version of game that already you can play on system, especially now when Nintendo started releasing Wii digital games for Wii U.

Second, even if Wii U isn't Wii backward compatibility, I don't believe that Nintend would release Wii HD games on Wii U, because they are games from last gen, they are not that old, and you can still find them in stores.

Another HD remake that could (and probably we will see), is another GameCube game like Zelda Wind Waker HD, because you can't play any GameCube on Wii U and you can't buy GameCube games in stores.

Also I think that chances are very high to see few Wii HD games on next Nintendo hardware, like Mario Galaxy games, Zelda Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, maybe Metroid Trilogy too.

The only reason for Nintendo to make a Wii HD game is bringing it to a region where it was never released, like Captain Rainbow or Disaster Day of Crisis. And the rare ones like Pandoras Tower and The Last Story will be eventually released on the Wii U virtual console.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

*points at Xenoblade*

Well that got a 3DS re release, but I'm sure fans would have been happy if it was a Wii U HD re release as well so...

I was talking about home consoles, evan that you can't play any Wii game on 3DS, so port of Wii game on 3DS have some sense.

I think Pandoras Tower and The Last Story are already announced for Wii U Virtual Console.

With the Wii U being backwards compatible and recently having Wii games on the eShop... I really doubt we'll have Wii HD remasters.

So was I. Your point was you can still find Wii games in stores, I was pointing out that for some games that isn't the case and I'm sure fans would love to see a Wii U re release, either because they enjoyed the game and want to play through it again, or more likely because they didn't have a chance to get a copy first time round.

Yes some Wii games you cant find in stores, like Metroid Trilogy, that is one of reasons why Nintendo releasing Wii game digitally, one of first released games is Metroid Trilogy.

Half the games on ps4 are remasterd ps3 games and a shitton of ps3 games on pan are ps2 games in HD also only a generation apart. Point is wii games deserve to look better. Even in there time off release graphically they were behind. I've never played games like smg 1 and 2 or the two wii Zelda. I believe there is a market for HD wii games on wii u

PS4 dont have PS3 backward compatibility and PS3 had PS2 backward compatibility only on beginning.
Except that, Nintendo is not Sony.

Wii games deserve to look better, but not this gen, now you can play them like they are.

I agree. Look at Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. It added more than HD, but even if only looking at the graphic, it is still an improvement over Tri to have a higher resolution. It would be good for many Wii-games. I doubt there is enough demand to justify a retail-release, but Nintendo could simply put such remasters on eShop. That would be great for Xenoblade Chronicles, both Zeldas and Fire Emblem. I didn't played it, but I think it would also work for both Super Mario galaxy games. I would even buy the four I named first again, although I have retail copies of them for Wii.
