Forums - Gaming - How Dark Souls II was and still is massively downgraded

Even the Scholar of the first Sin is still the downgraded PC version with some effects added on all systems even the PC version (scholar of the sin). This is a real dissapointed seeing this, i feel like also buying dark souls 2 but i kinda dont want to spend so much time on a game that looks worse than bloodborne like i do on bloodbone so far.

Seriously if they would make it 30fps on consoles i would still preffer it over the downgraded version. I feel like namco wants a cash grab from the Bloodborne hype, they could have put more effort into it. At least the first levels could be like that and the rest the same but with better graphics effects like the shadows we have seen.

Wow, that's extremely disappointing.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

It wasn't really a downgrade so much as a massive design change...

still disappointing though

Thanks Obama

Yeah/ I watched a walkthrough earlier of a level 1 game completion, and I was like....these are the graphics? Demon's souls looked 10x better than that.

dark souls 2 was a massive disappointment for me purposely on all levels

Maybe your expectations are not realistic? PC version is the best version, that's a known fact. This is far from a cash grab by today's standard. They made the game 1080/60fps and added new enemies/changed placement to make the game more difficult. Better than most remastered games already.

Never played a Souls game, or Bloodborne, yet. So after buying DarkSouls 2 (PS4) on Friday I do say the graphics suck, but I am addicted as fuck. Been playing almost non-stop all weekend. Cannot call it a cashgrab when I never played it before.

Oh, well, back to playing and goodbye to annoying internet opinions.

thats really sad to be honest...

i never played Dark Souls II since i heard it was not really good, so i decided to watch a playthrough to see what they were talking about and i did saw some faults:

1) most of the bosses are humanoids, so there is a lack of variety there (plus since they are all mostly humanoids a lot of the fights seem to play the same, not to mention there are some repeated bossfights... although Dark Souls I did that as well)

2) the open world design (unlike DKS I and Bloodborne) makes no sense

3) the obvious graphicas downgrade that was present since the original launch

and there is something else that i feel the game lacked but i cant put my finger on it... all i can say is that after watching a whole playthrough it looks like the most soulless game of the series.
