It's also interesting to see that Xbox titles never did anywhere close to what Dreamcast titles did.

Microsoft really tried hard at the first three years of Xbox 360 life. Look at the number of those JRPG exclusives (or which were exclusive back then)! I don't think any company can give it a better effort than that. Yet, they failed to get respectable numbers on Japan.
