Graphics aren't everything and the game is already a day one purchase but....does it look graphically downgraded from the old trailer to anybody else?

it's not the graphics, it's literally the compression on youtube, everything looks more blurry than it should. In fact, this version has better draw distance than the e3 2014 version and some other details. I'm not saying that the game is a technical marvel, but it's not downgraded.

Probably right.  I'm sure it will be superb.  Just watched both (first one, then the other) and going off of memory, there seems to be little things like lighting and more robots and activity in the old trailer.  I could be wrong, though.  I'm old as hell! It may even be an artistic decision rather than a downgrade.  Still, a day one purchase and the JRPG to get for any fans of the genre.  Carry on!

i'd actually say make a seperate post if you can.

The intro is the same. textures look more blurry, lightning is basic, the doll screen looks more static, and less activity is occuring in the background.

REALLY hope you can download better textures with the installs, but otherwise the game is pretty downgraded.

Knew I wasn't going crazy!

well maybe you're right there, anyway, I'm pretty sure that they have to do a lot of sacrifices because the game is on the wii u. Nonetheless, I can't wait, I played Xenoblade on wii and that game is not pretty in the technical aspect, still one of the best jrpg for me.

I don't know if there have necessarily been any downgrades (the video compression makes proper comparisons difficult), but there are definitely aesthetic differences between the two. They could be completely contextual though.

I personally think the left side looks a bit nicer (i tend to prefer more dramatic uses of lighting), but graphically it looks great for a WiiU game regardless. It's certainly the most visually ambitious title we've seen from Nintendo to date.

i want to see, but i dont want spoilers.
I want to be surprised in the game.
But i want to see it now.

Zelda will probably look better considering it got delayed for a year. The grass and foliage are 2D sprites in xbx, they're much better in Zelda.

Agreed. XC's graphics might have been pretty poor (especially for someone like me who had moved their gaming focus to PC by then), but that didn't stop it being one of the best JRPG's of the 7th gen. Perhaps even the best.

Yeah, a lot of it looks like video compression on both of them.

Zelda U's grass and foliage is just sprites too, but they do appear to be a higher resolution (as well as there being more of it, and with more dynamic properties). I can't actually think of a single game where the grass isn't 2D (or at least 2D with joints) :p

It will make for an interesting comparison though. They have very different focuses, but i expect you'll be right.
