Oh I get it, you'll want something but you don't want to pay what they ask for it? It happens all the time, everywhere... I want a Lancer EVO X, but I don't want to pay that much for it... or Back to the Future action figures... or a *tiny* diamond   xD

Also, you should consider that Amiibo aren't DLCs exclusives for a single game, it's price is diluted on the compatible games. You pay $12 for a figure and "some" DLCs. It's not that bad.

Yes, you are forced. "Don't buy" doesn't fly. That's not how consumerism works. 

If you want the content, you're forced to buy the toy. It doesn't happen "all the time everywhere." They're locking away content that is desirable outside of the physical toys. No one should have to buy a toy they don't want in order to get extra digital content they do want. Not when it's $12 a pop and the content is only worth cents by comparison. It's price would be more "diluted" if it wasn't tied to a $12 toy. To a large amount of consumers, including me, the figures have no value. That means that to a large amount of consumers, including me, their only value comes from the digital extras they lock out of the games. In order to regain all of that extra content, I'd need to buy an amiibo for every single peice of content.

If I want all of the costumes in Mario Kart 8, and I do, I have to spend over $228 on 19 fucking amiibo toys I don't want. I'd have to spend $228 on what is maybe $2 worth of content. Their is no fathomable universe where that isn't complete and utter bullshit. It is "that bad."

Is it confirmed that XCX is gonna use Amiibo? Which figurines exactly?

The Smash Bros Shulk figurine is a given, but hopefully Nintendo will announce new Amiibo for this game as well. Given its expected drop date and the fact that Splatoon is getting Amiibo, this is probably not going to get a new set however. Which means at best the Amiibo cards down the line or various amiibo offer random effects like in Hyrule Warriors.

Which sucks because the more I see and hear about this game and its features, the more I think Nintendo might have hit gold with this one.

But all the content you are describing is small and supplemental.  YOU want it, sure, but it's not core to the experience by any stretch.  It's a bonus tossed in for those who DO want the toys.  You don't have to have an Amiibo for every character in smash or every driver in kart etc.  The only game where anything of substance is tied to the game is priced fairly to accommodate.

But I will say the cards could be an excellent way to give the content to those who don't desire the figurines.  

Are Amiibos limited or available whole time? I can't find Shulk anywhere. And why do they cost 35-40 Euro each in Poland? 0_0
