Really? This is the worse executive decision since Nintendo fired Gunpei Yokoi.

Pretty sure Nintendo didnt fire him...

Nintendo basically did. They blamed the failure of the Virtual Boy on him, even when he knew it would fail and tried to not have it released at it's current state.

Do you have any evidence at all to support that claim...?

"A Konami representative has denied Burke's claims, telling VideoGamer.com that the suggestion Kojima has been fired is "categorically incorrect"."

"The person explained that, once the Phantom Pain project is finished, in all likelihood the management at the studio will disband.

"After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami. They said their contract ends in December," the source claimed."

Sounds like he's still working for Konami at the moment. Maybe you should add this to your thread OP.

No one clicked on the source...

And no one read the UPDATE. My experiment is a success.

Yes, I will add it to the OP right now.

Didn't Konami already respond saying that those rumours are false though?

Kojima IS leaving Konami after TPP. He may or may not have been fired, but it's pretty clear that There has been a lot of tension between the dev and Konami for some time now. Kojima is a genius, and I'm excited to see what he does after MGS. Unfotunately for him, creator of MGS is a title that's kinda hard to surpass, given that it's arguably the best series of all time.

It's in a book, Game Over: How Nintendo Zapped an American Industry, Captured Your Dollars, and Enslaved Your Children by David Sheff, so kinda hard to see it. However, I do have a site: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/nintendo/nintendo-virtual-boy-101-a-beginners-guide

Well with the white background my polar bearness does give me a natural camouflage

Not really. I can see your nose a mile away. Maybe you should cover it.

Nintendo's PR concerning his resignation:

"It is reality that Mr. Yokoi has indeed left, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the failure of the Virtual Boy. There's no doubt that the Virtual Boy was a failure, but the head of the company himself has said that the blame for that rests on the decision to sell it to begin with. The D-pad and Game Boy that Mr. Yokoi developed are incredible. Such a man taking the blame for the 32-bit device and leaving the company is completely made up."

well he kept saying every MGS game would be his last now it has finely happened

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I wonder if people will react in a similar fashion when a new AAA Konami game will come out? Will MGS5 be the last game they will truly play from Konami?
