How much it shipped before the re-release?
Edit - It was nearly 6 million in May 2014.
So seems like they shipped more ~2.5m for the re-release... not bad.

Yes, shortly after launch: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/tomb-raider-fails-to-reach-sales-target/1100-6405929/ |
It came with my bundle back in Christmas 2013, I think I got all the Tomb Raider games for £9... I haven't played the reboot yet though as it won't run on my machine.

That's overstating things a bit. You don't go from failure to moderate success without passing through "disappointing sales" first. "Moderate success" across 5 platforms is reserved for the 10 million sales mark, surely.
Makes it even more certain that RTR will come to PC and PS4 within a year. The sort of revenue SE is foregoing by turning an 8.5 million seller into a ~3 million seller is far more than MS would have been willing to pay to make the game fully Xbox exclusive. And more than likely RTR has a genuine shot at selling 10 million if it's turned multiplat and it gets the same critical response as TR 2013. Though perhaps with late ports to PS4 and PC the sales potential is less than what it would have been if it was released on all platforms at the same time.

Good to know. One of the worst moves ever by this site to force people to have a second online identity to be able to comment on GamrReview content.
