Despite being the lowest rated Battlefield game to date, Battlefield Hardline is quite popular with PlayStation 4 gamers, apparently. Far more popular than on the Xbox One.

According to Battlefield Hardline game statistics (as tracked by the P-Stats network), the PS4 version had over 4X as many active players than the Xbox One over the past week. That’s a huge difference for a game that was marketed equally on both platforms.

The data shows that there were some 800,000 active Hardline players last week on the PS4, while the Xbox One didn’t even manage to break the 200,000 mark.

In fact, the PS4 has far more active Hardline players than even the PC, which has historically been the most popular platform for the Battlefield series.

Not surprising considering the difference in WW install base between the two.

Though it does blow a big hole in the common notion that the Xbox platform is the "shooterbox" platform. You can now add BF Hardline to the ever growing list of top selling shooters on the PS4.

4x more is a lot.

Did X1 version outsell the PS4 version in the UK? I remember reading that

7 days, not first week (2 days) agree?

In this case probabily that the first week sales are close to the actully players online...

The install base difference isn't anywhere near 4x.

The difference in install base is about 2x, not 4x, this is double what it should be.....

Makes sense to me. The PS4 is the dominant console this time, so it`s going to have most of the multiplat sales.

A bit surprising considering that the PS4 userbase is approximately 2x larger, not 4x.

So X1 owners have the better taste?

Or they are not as good figuring out if they like a game before buying?

Or they just spend less time with bad games?

Or they generally play less because they have jobs?

So many possibilities.
