Yeah, last week he flew out to play MKX and have a conversation with Ed Boon while reading fan questions to him about the game. He's a very gracious guy and doesnt tend to overstep his boundaries. He has called major Nelson out on a bullshit for DRM because because of his Youtube fame he went out to E3 and interviewed them. He tends to do that.

When everyone stood up against Microsofts policies he literally had a celebration rant that the gaming community as a whole got together to show Microsoft what was what, because in the end its all our hobbie. Its our passtime.

Ah well that's pretty awesome actually ^^
Also good discussion, mate :)
I always like a good discussion^^

Same here. So do I. :)

People saying Nintendo are out of touch seems odd to me. I recall Nintendo getting a lot of people to sign up to their service so it would appear to me, they're more like evil geniuses as opposed to out of touch...

As for Joe being angry, just don't upload Nintendo content. It's that simple. Why the need for drama? Might he be afraid other companies could do the same thing?

Whether nintendo have the right or not, if MS (known for being the greediest company) and Sony do this then thereis value behind this. For better or worse, Nintendo is the most stubborn company I ever seen. Would this mean we will never see the twitch app on a nintendo system? I guess not.

He does make a good point about nintendo's policies on this sort of stuff. If EA is willing to pay youtubers to cover their games in order to promote their games and advertise for them then what does that say about Nintendo? I wonder why the Wii U isn't selling that well....

He's probably angry because editing a video takes a lot of work and the hours he spent on Nintendo related content just vanished because of a foolish marketing choice.

Of course he won't be uploading Nintendo content anymore, but who's gonna benefit from it? Not Nintendo, not him, nor his subscribers, it's a no-win strategy.

The policy itself is fine. The problem is the ad revenue share. Nintendo and Google takes a hefty chunk of it and leaves the scraps for the content creator. If Nintendo can find the balance and can be a little more generous to youtubers, I think it will work.

At the moment both sides look pathetic, petty and greedy.

Kind of hard to say the youtubers are being greedy about it since Nintendo are literally the only company doing it this way. Nintendo are against what is considered normal.

Nah it's easy to say the youtuber's are greedy. The incessant whinning is all about the money. I can guarantee you that if Nintedo kept the same program but did'nt take a share of the revenue, no one will have a whinge. Youtuber's are scared that other companies might follow suit and all the money they once pocketed will be reduced.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like what Nintendo is doing, they have enough money as it is and the revenue they'll earn from this will be like penny's. But the complaints and criticism are from a place of greed.

The way he speaks and everything is just so annoying that it makes me cry. ;_;

They didn't take down the video. They just said he can't profit from it unless it meets their criteria. If he were charitable to his Nintendo fans he could still have the video up.

I like how most of the people who answered, "no" in a thread I made about whether or not Chuggaconroy's Xenoblade  videos will help Nintendo sell Xenoblade X are the same people in this thread saying Nintendo loses out big if they don't let people post any let's play they want involving Nintendo content without any obligations to provide money to Nintendo for use of their IP.

Chugga's fanbase is mostly Nintendo fans so I bet most of them already know about the game and he's a relatively small youtuber. Still it probably helped a bit. My little bro wants to buy Xeno X because of Chugga's videos. Anecdotal I know, but just saying.
