Not onyl that, but the PC version is also the best price-value. The PS4/XB version are $60 for everything, while the PC version is $50 for everything. But on PC if you already have a Dark Souls II with DLC it only costs $19.99, or Dark Souls II without DLC it only costs $29.99. I don't think I've read anything about the console versions getting an upgrade path for a cheaper price if you own a PS3/360 version of the game.

So here's how it shakes down: There are two versions of Scholar of the First Sin on PC; one on DirectX9 and the other on DirectX11. The former is the existing version of the game with all its DLC, while the latter is basically the equivalent of the PS4 and Xbox One versions with all the new graphical updates and content that entails.

Upgrading to this version [DX11] costs $19.99 (about £14) for those who already have all of the game's DLC (which this includes). Those without the DLC can upgrade for $29.99 (about £20).

Buying Scholar of the First Sin from scratch will be $49.99 (about £34) for the DirectX11 version and $39.99 (about £27) for the DirectX9 version.

The PC version came out 2 days ago. I bought it through the upgrade path. And it runs on max settings, 60fps. On a 4+ year old computer. I'm struggling to understand how/why it doesn't run the same on the XBone and PS4.

The thing is, it runs at 60fps on console too, ~99% time on PS4 and ~94% time on XB1 (and that was from some of the worst moments selected in one video).

Are you sure it runs 100% of the time at 60fps on your PC? Have you analysed it with a special software tool on several hours of gaming? Can you notice short frame drops when you are really busy fighting a boss?

That's really the problem with PC gamers. They think that their games run 100% time at 60fps when usually it's far from being the case as there are almost always minimun fps drops under 60fps but they fail to notice them and compare those subjective findings to console frame rate stress videos where only the worst moments are shown on the video.

Oh, it's turned into a PC thread. That's novel.

How modest of you to not include the other version and have the gall to call it a PC thread.

How novel of you.

Haha, maybe after I can finally finish Pokemon Alpha Sapphire in German and understand >50% of it I'll move and take advantage of the cheaper games. At the fourth Gym now and I think I understood about 25% of what was being said up until this point, mostly because I remember bits and pieces of the original Pokemon Sapphire and I have a dictionary at my side while playing. Two semesters of Introductory College German is not even enough for Pokemon it seems. ;)

Nice generalisation ya got there, I'd imagine fraps or Steam FPS counter is something that doesn't exist or FPS commands that some PC games offer, nope, apparently PC gamers don't check these sort of things but when it comes to consoles it;s already checked, decked and fine.

So you're basically saying that all PC games hardly reach 60fps going by your "usually far from the case", got any evidence to back that up?, have you checked with millions of PC gamers recently and charted up a board instead of just being super simple and going for ye old Steam database?.

Good to know that the PS4 sku is top notch. It seems only natural, considering the Playstation brand is the one that put the spotlight on these types of games.

Sweet. Will get the PC upgrade with all of the DLC once I'm finished with Bloodborne.

Why would I rewrite an article? That's a bit of an odd thing to say:

The PS5 Exists.

The souls series is one I neglected last gen. I plan to remedy that, and am glad the game is coming to PS4 looking all sexy and everything!
