You have a fps counter, but have you got a way to keep in memory the lowest fps number reached?
Anyway I admit that I was generalizing. Maybe Dark souls 2 is the exception to the rule in PC gaming. Because my "generalization" works pretty well in many others game like Far Cry 4 or PVZ garden warfare for instance.
