Yeah your right, most people think holiday 2016. Some 2017 and also some end of the year or early 2016.
This is pre NX announcement btw

Oh if its pre NX announcement then I have no idea, never payed much attention then.

I suspected a late 2016 to 2017 release for any successor. No idea if NX plans will push that up or back at this stage. I don't find it unusual for a system to have games coming out for even after its successor is released. For example, there are still PS3 games coming out in 2015.

Yeah, funny thing is 3DS overall should be quite up YoY WW in the first quarter. (done 10% in japan and US looks to be up at least 40%+)
I think this year will only decline 15%, compared to last year where it fell greatly (over 35%?)

Difference though is Sony and Nintendo, especially when most of 3DS is made up of 1st party games. If a New HH will come out, Nintendo will move 100% to it. Only GF might support it for an extra year or 2 (pokemon)

I think October/November 2016 release for Japan, and Feb/March 2017 for U.S/E.U. The home console form factor will release November 2017.
Didn't GBA get a Fire Emblem game after DS released? No, this proves nothing, just that Nintendo is committed to supporting 3DS until the next device launches which I'm guessing is Q3/Q4 2016.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
Nintendo has a tendency to support their handhelds up to and beyond the release of their replacement: see, Pokemon Black and White in March 2011, weeks before 3DS. Or, in this series, Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, which released some time after the DS in the West.
Less so for the consoles.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
It proves nothing. On NX (next gen) topic, I doubt they'll announce and release a system in the same year.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
