Forums - Nintendo - DeNA says it wants nintendo mobile games to bring in over $25 Million per month

Mobile company DeNA has high targets for its mobile games featuring iconic Nintendo IP’s. The firm told Reuters that they expect to bring in over $25 million per month with the lucrative games using Nintendo characters such as Mario and Donkey Kong. Analysts says that Nintendo will probably earn around 70 percent of proceeds from the partnership.

“We want to create games that will be played by hundreds of millions of people,” Moriyasu told Reuters in an interview. “We want to create multiple hit games rather than aiming to succeed with just one powerful IP element.”

“We haven’t talked to Nintendo about targets, but at DeNA, our best-selling game brought in 3 billion yen a month, and we want to surpass that.”

25m should be possible.

Should be achievable without much fuss, unless they're saying they want their specific take to be $25 mill/month on top of Nintendo's take.

Made achievable through an endless barrage of microtransactions.

That would be more than Candy Crush made at the peak of its popularity.

"It's played more than 600 million times a day and is bringing in an estimated $633,000 every day, according to mobile gaming monetization company Think Gaming.
If King, the makers of Candy Crush Saga keep this up, it could pull in roughly $231 million this year. "
That is $633 000 * 30 days = $ 18 990 000

Pretty sure that's an outdated number from July 2013. I think Candy Crush has been north of $1 million/day.

Definitely possible, it all depends on Nintendo's decisions... don't mess it up!

I could be wrong but I remember one report saying it had something like 148 million regular players. So yeah. That's insane. There's more people who play it regularily than the entirity of the DS fanbase (especially when you factor in the DS wasn't really 148 million distinct owners, I had three DS models myself for instance).

If they make a Pokemon Candy Crush it will be 25m a fortnight lmao.
