I sincerely don't think they would risk tanking Wii U's sales this holiday. They are improving the game, that's all. It's likely that since the mobile announcement Iwata told Aonuma that there isn't as much pressure to get the game done by the end of the year so he's free to implement whatever he wants into the game to make it the best Zelda it can be.

I don't think mobile has anything to do with that. miyamoto probably fliped the table again and they needed a few more months.

That's Monolith Soft, not the same people developing Zelda U

Oh right right. They only did Skyward Sword and Link Between Worlds. It's silly of me to assume they will be on this one as well.

Neither of those games are open world(at least not on the scale of Zelda U) or HD

I wouldn't be too concerned if they said it will be delayed by a couple of months but we both know that they will release Zelda U in late november 2016, it's just poor management when you relase a game one year after it was scheduled.

When he say's Zelda U is being delayed to implement new gameplay "possibilities" is he being completely honest or is he being Nintendo's puppet and spewing out whatever the suits told him to? I think that he is lying and they are intentially holding the game back for other reasons and just came up with the "new possibilities" BS because they think the fans will swallow it, of course i could be 100% wrong.

Well since that is a broad enough statement that you can put pretty much cover anything that you might change about the game (moar QTEs!!!), I can't think anyone would ever be able to pin the liar tag on Aonuma.

Promoting a 2015 release and then making it a delay without any sort of release window suggests some quite substantial re-thinking going on. I think the replacement home console will come in 2017, and one wonders if a Zelda U is the best thing for the series and for Nintendo's home console ambitions. Zelda NX as a launch title it a pretty awesome prospect and a great way to kick off a new console. Zelda U won't do much to rehabilitate the fortunes of Wii U, and making this game a crtoss gen titles won;t do much to kick off the next home console.

I disagree because large Nintendo games like these tend to get delayed anyways..

Until you come up with some "other reasons" that are more vlid than Nintendo's statement, I think we know where the BS is.

_post_content">It's only poor management if the game had a retail locked date and the game never changed in scope or design.

They told the fans Just three months ago that it would definately be ready for a 2015 release, that is very poor from nintendo.

Stop playing dumb, we both know that the game is being held back to be simultaneously released on wii u and their new console.

NO, we dont know it, stop playing clairvoyance

Of course not. Aonuma find magical new ideas months before release and decided that Nintendo should delay their biggest game in the year. Those great ideas can't wait for another game, just like the mask transformations and NPC schedules on Ocarina of Time have to wait until Majora's Mask.

Those great ideas are worth the delay and greater investment. Financially, it also makes sense as the throw even more money in an already expensive project that it could well need a pair of million copies sold to even break.

I trust Aonuma.

Edit: whoops wrong thread lol. But I think it's partially because the development taking longer than expected and partially for financial reasons we are not aware of.
