BTW I am really happy with this governor. Every US governor should be like him. He is an idol.

Next on the list:
20% tax raise on game sales and developer land costs. The council for family well-being believes that games are contributing to societal decline.

Now what?

(just a hypothetical)

He's saying for lack of a better word "Karma". He wants you to understand what its like to be in his shoes. Most people are blind to their beliefs until they have reality step in.

There have been numerous politicians and actors who have been against gay marriage and rights until their child "came out". When these kinds of people finally have an inlet of what it's like, they finally get it. It's so frustrating to know that these kinds of people are in power, where it takes a family member to convince them of something, and they can't just try and understand the situation on their own.

Empathy is about caring enough about a situation to actively try to understand it....not about waiting until you get smacked in the face with it.

When you're blinded by a two thousand year old doctrine which tries its best to explain the universe (for its time period) these things tend to happen. There is nothing about the bible that truly baffles science. At least they learned to back down to it a little bit. Even the catholic church today had to look reality in the face as it took them quite a while to get the picture. They used to kill people for even talking about science if it defied the word of scripture and now look at them. There is a lesson that we can learn from these great paradigm shifts in history.

Empathy is a big thing and it takes an emotionally strong person to wield it, that some people can only offer it to the like minded. Belief can create a wall where on a human level there should be an open field of space of understanding. Theres only so much time we get on this earth and its wasted sadly on petty squabbles from a book that a man wrote who obviously had very little understanding of the universe. Thats a big issue with humanity. It will take us years to get beyond it though. I can only hope that it happens in due time for everyone to understand the perfect imperfection of all that is us.

Western world learned the word "karma" a few decades ago, when we are using this word for thousands of years. Lol. As for the "impact" of the word, I dont care. Because its not applicable for me. I havent done anything bad for anyone.

If you're  a follower of abrahamic faith your god demands that you dont have idols.

That's discrimination.

But It's not worse than PROMOTING gayness.

What are you so mad about?

Anyway, feel free to hold whatever beliefs you will. I think the flames you're receiving here are because people are tired of having other people's beliefs forced onto them.

For those that want to read the bill, I suggest you do.  If you are conserned about a government agency forcing a person to do something against their religious belief then you will be protected.   That is it.

The synopisis (note the real bill isn't much longer)

Religious freedom restoration. Prohibits a governmental entity from substantially burdening a person's exercise of religion, even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability, unless the governmental entity can demonstrate that the burden: (1) is in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest; and (2) is the least restrictive means of furthering the compelling governmental interest. Provides a procedure for remedying a violation. Specifies that the religious freedom law applies to the implementation or application of a law regardless of whether the state or any other governmental entity or official is a party to a proceeding implementing or applying  the law. Prohibits an applicant, employee, or former employee from pursuing certain causes of action against a private employer.

Praising the rise of christian faith in the state will only tip the scales of discrimination for those who the faith does not find appropriate. Thats just the thing though...its only faith...and faith does not require proof to be believed when we live in a system of checks and balances. A contradiction if you will, but of course a biased believer would bastardize a system in order to create unfair living conditions because of a bias created from a two thousand year old book that doesn't help anyones intellectual progress at all.

Next question, if it is ok to refuse service to gays, should it also be ok to refuse service to non-believers? Satanists? Muslims? Taoists? Monks?

At least it makes more sense, since the Bible decries non-believers while says nothing about condeming homosexuality.

EDIT: I responded to your post because of the "promoting". Does wearing a religious garb constitute as promotion? Shouldn't that be no different than someone wearing a rainbow patch?

Also, Hey Weagle!
