Online multilplayer needs to take a step back a return the throne to the true king; Local.

Online is vastly superior to local to me lol. I do not mind local but to say "local" is superior is baloney. To YOU is is better but you can do a lot of things in online that is impossible (or a reduced experience) in local MP

Every once in a while me and the GF play local coop in LBP but 95% of the time we play online on our 2 PS3/4s and our 2 tvs in the same room because its better if each has their own screen

That's still local.

I do every now and then. Me and my friends will play some MW2 splitscreen from time to time. I also still have a SNES and we played Killer Instinct not too long ago.

I have this gaming system, that is specifiacally designed for local multiplayer, It has some single player games, but they are not really fun. They are more something to pass the time.
It has no online functionality at all, unless you use some third party hardware and that can get really complicated, i wouldn't advise even trying that, it's not fun.
It has lots of games, they are all pretty old but lots of fun once you master them. Sometimes new ones come out, but they are usually not as good. The are fun for a while, but they don't play like the classics. Most of the games are designed for 2 or 4 players, but i have seen some that allow 6,8 or even more.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Kinda, but technically that is not local. It doesn't have the terrible drawbacks of local and would be impossible without networking of some sort

I'm at an age where friends and family generally have life shit to do, so the occasional evening online with headsets is fine with me.
Besides, don' nobody enjoy watching captain sweaty dew up your controller.

It is harder for sure, but if you make an effort to do it it can be fun. I did 8 player smash with 7 friends over winter break and it was amazing! I also still try to get smash and kart in on a regular basis with a few friends as well and it is always fun. Now that we can drink I was considering doing a few drinking games maybe with Mario Party in the mix as well.

Also.

no.. no thanks.

Eww, PowerA.

I'll just stick with my ground rules, bring your own controller or don't play, simple.

Wrong thread entirely. Crap.
