Yep, I agree with this. That's the only thing I like about the film, and that's not a good thing lol. The TV-show costume looks good. Different, but good enough.

Leather's not exactly known for being stretchy either, so you'd get alot more flexibility in the tv show costume. -pic- |
Technically, the suit maker does say it's a work in progress and that it isn't exactly finished at the moment.

I've only watched the first two episodes so far, but I've seen no tie-ins to other Marvel franchises so far. There probably will be at some point in the future though I'd guess. A Spider-Man tie-in at some point maybe, since they both inhabitat New York. |
I did say to people that the best thing to come from the Sony deal to have Spider-man in the main MCU isn't Spider-man with the Avengers or anything like that, it's Spider-man in DareDevil. Doesn't even have to be out of costume, so doesn't have to be the same actor.

The movies and TVs shows will need to change some things as there is a lot that isn't practical not only because it will look stupid on film but because it's hard to explain. But then, pretty sure they can change what they want, I mean Ben Urich is white in the comics. :P
Hmm, pie.
What are thoughts on Fisk?
To me the shows portrayal is better, but it has the luxury of decompressing the character slowly revealing him. The film he was a big rich guy with influence. Show seems to be more nuanced characterization with various ticks and feeling of this bubbling aggression under a facade of upper class.

I'll need to watch more episodes to form a good opinion, only just saw Fisk teased at the end of Episode 3. I liked Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin in the movie though, he was always one of my favorite actors. He had the size to pull it off, this new guy seems to be a good bit smaller, at least based on that teaser appearance at the end of episode 3. |
I think it depends on what you value in casting. I think D'Onofrio portrayal is someone powerful, but still has not achieved their full ambition. He keeps you guessing a bit with a scene of meek vulnerability juxtiposed with one of extreme brutality. His motivation is actually interesting as well and makes him a better foil to Daredevil for me.
I will try to be vague as know Netflix shows have that issue where some watch faster or slower than most. I am on epsiode 8 for reference. Likely finish it sometime this weekend.

I'm up to episode 4. His character is spot on.

My second favorite character on the show after Matt Murdock. He gets really good and is such an interesting character.

easily both the best version of the character outside of the comics (though the only time's i know of are the Ben Affleck Daredevil and the 90's Spider-Man cartoon) and the best villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
would love to see this version of the Kingpin go up against the MCU Spider-Man.
Daredvil fan since the "Man Without Fear" series from the 90's. I approve of the show thus far. Kinda corny (as an ex cop, I keep seeing law/crime scene stuff and saying "THAT IS WRONG!") but it is better than I hoped. It's a keeper. Thanks for keeping the spoilers to a minimum, guys!
