Development started after type 0 but then the team moved to work on FfXV and development won't be resumed til after XV. So fall 2017 at the earlierst
A console version would be better even though even though I would want a Vita version. Making a portable game would just limit its scope and their vision for it. I want it to be the biggest they can make it, the flashier and the best. Besides if it does come to the Ps4, we could always play it on the Vita anyway.

Who did Bravely Default? Probably who ever did that. To appologize to all the fans wanting a traditional FF for making such a non-traditional game. If FFXV is the VII of this gen, FFXVI will be the IX.
This is coming from someone who knows exactly 1% about FF, though.
I guess I'm really... not a genius.

Lol Bravely Default isnt even developed by SQEX, its done by Silicon Studio. I doubt they will be making XVI, especially when they dont normally develop games. Their only games of note are Bravely Default and 3D Dot Game Heroes. They normally work in middleware.

Hmm that actually makes sense. FF7 is every ones favorite because of how it introduced a whole new generation to FF and also it introduced one of its most iconic characters ever. FFXV is set to do the same, although having an iconic character is still yet to be determined. Motomu Toriyama is also working on a big budget RPG which is yet to be announced. It could be the FF8 of this generation(If he actually strays away from his FF13 mentality) and then we'll have Hiroyuki Ito's FF next which will combine everything that's been great on the previous FF games(He also made 9).
