Lol Bravely Default isnt even developed by SQEX, its done by Silicon Studio. I doubt they will be making XVI, especially when they dont normally develop games. Their only games of note are Bravely Default and 3D Dot Game Heroes. They normally work in middleware.

Bravely Default was their first real big game!? That's pretty impressive for a company who normally does middleware.

Looks great, wonder what platforms it'll be on.

PS4 and XB1 are pretty likely since Type-0 HD released on those 2. Maybe Vita, but probably not. PC is a possibility too.

I doubt it'll be on Vita since they didn't port Type-0 to the system and they had the most vocal fans in wanting the game localized.

Agreed, I'll probably pick it up on PS4 though. I like the darker tone in Type 0 and hope the next Type game has the same darker tone in it.

Art, indeed.

Hmm, has been awhile since he directed a mainline FF. He directed 6, 9 and then 12. Being the fan of 12 that I am I would love to see him do another (although I kinda want Matsuno back too). Cant believe between 9 and 12 he did nothing, just 6 years of FFXII. That game really did take a long time for them considering they didnt have to go through the shit the XV team did.

Despite that, the development of FFXII was far from smooth either. The development of FFXII began around the time "The Spirits Within" bombed, so there was huge expectations for FFXII. This caused Yasumi Matsuno (The game's prior director) to have a nervous breakdown and leave the company in the middle of the game's development. Square put in around US$35 million for the game's development and the game had plenty of executive meddling backstage.

OT: The art and paintings for the game look incredible. I would love to see an FF game take place within a setting that's inspired by feudal Japan. It would be quite refreshing for the series.
