I disagree. There has been a huge increase between the cube and the Wii. The major one is obviously the user interface and that is where it excels. But it is 3-4 times as powerful as the cube. And online, while not perfect, smashes the cube(mainly because it didnt have one).


The Wii is about twice as powerful as the Gamecube. Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2 and PSO3: Card Revolution were online enabled on the Gamecube.

The biggest differences between the Wii and Gamecube are the waggle wand, the ducttape and the white case.


Well, that, IR, top sales, popularity, VC, and 2 of the top 10 games of all time as exclusives.

 

Those are also pretty big differences, wouldn't you agree?

 

I think that just having Brawl and Galaxy, pretty much makes it the best system this gen, so far. 360 WOULD have that crown, but it has the RRoD, so no. PS3 just doesn't have the games to match up. Doesn't have bad games, necessarily, but I just doesn't have the kind of games that I want to play. This is my opinion, btw. I own a PS3 and Uncharted.

I disagree. Brawl isn't even on my to-buy-list, so that game is worthless. Galaxy is good, but it lasts only for so long. IR is nice to have, but you aim at the sensor bar and not the TV. Top sales and popularity are useless if 3rd parties don't care to start making good games for the system. VC is yet another way for Nintendo to rip off their fans. This is my opinion, btw. I own a GBA and Metroid Fusion.

Top Sales and popularity don't really do it for those of us who like to think for ourselves instead of going "baaaa baaaa" all day long.  Additionally, you're assuming that "top rated games by critics" neccessarily means that those games are better.

Don't worry... the shears don't hurt and you'll only be a little cold for a couple of weeks.

Aside from Wii Sports, I haven't yet played a game on the Wii that wouldn't have been better on the cube.  The aiming in TP would be just as convenient with the cube's analog stick, the pointing in Galaxy is so useless that it's stunning, and you actually can use the cube's controller in Brawl.

Just like Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo have just pumped up the graphics(but not done as good a job at it!) and tacked on a cute little accessory(Wii remote) to make it seem like they've actually done something.
