Forums - Nintendo - To all Canadian Amiibo collectors/buyers....Price hike & gold mario amiibo info

...due to our weak @$$ dollar, starting April 1st all amiibos will be $15.99 instead of $13.99.

So if any of you were on the fence of picking some up now would be the time.  Best deal would be at Toys r Us where they'll have an amiibo deal starting March 20th, 3 for $30.  It says selected amiibos, but I'm assuming it'll be for the current amiibos and not the new Super Mario amiibos that'll be release on the 20th.

Also if any Canadians are interested in the gold mario amiibo, it'll be delayed and released April 10th in Canada.  Unfortunate for the delay but good news is that it's apparently not exclusive to Walmart and will be at other retailers across Canada.  Amazon.ca had some pre-orders but was sold out within 15 minutes.

Or maybe even a unification with the US? I am probably one of the only Canadians who would support that, and I was born in the US and have dual-citizenship, so that probably affects my opinion!

It was bound to happen, as soon as Gas prices go up, Canadian Dollar will go back up.

Also ... seriously unified currency will be bad for Canada...oh god so bad.

Before that we were on par, if not a bit higher than, the US.  Last gen our games and consoles was the exact same price as the US.

Yeah, thats what are mighty loonie does to us! We already have 69.99 games, why not just make it worse? I miss the days of 60$ games and 1$ CAD= 1$ USD.

That was because how badly USA fucked up with Housing Market/Financial Crisis. Plus the rise of oil prices.

I have feeling people here don't understand how CAD being lower is a good thing for export centric country.....

Given idealy I think 90 cents would satisfy the the positive and negative effects.

Yeah, but if thats a case keep games at 65$!!! Anyway 90 cents is good, but I mean come on 78 cents. Also with the effects of oil on our economy (Alberta is the worst, yeah me cause I'm from there) the economy is in shambles, and I doubt Steven Harper will be able to balance the books this year! F***!!!!

Conservative Government is never the best to balance books. Even if the CAD is stable. Kind of miss Jean because he was capabable and was really lowering our overall debt. Here is hoping the new liberal guy doesn't suck with his minority government.

Also the oil prices is hurting Alberta, which hurts the CAD. However the cause isn't the CAD, but the overall market of Oil. Also remember USA is recovering, it was bound to happen that the CAD would go back down.

Anyways need to run.
