 Except that the RRoD is a design flaw problem and fundamentally the fault of the manufacturer, whereas the dusty lens issue (i.e. if you smoke) is a user caused problem.   


There is no need to send it to the repair as soon as possible compared to RRoD, with which you couldn't even do anything else with your console. But still i wait for the day of Brawl launching here in E.U. , with little fear.

Nintendo should use this opportunity and call it "parental control"

Pretty nice service, considering it's an end user problem. Smoking is (at least now) a lot more popular in Japan than in the U.S., so hopefully this won't be an issue when SSBB ships in the U.S. If not, at least we'll know the issue.

We know that it did not get taken care of -- it appears to be unavoidable. It reminds me of that PS3 in dust, if you live in a mess, your game system will have problems.

Now whiel I have some dust in my basement, I don't smoke and SSBB plays fine on my April 2007 Wii.

Meanwhile, there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason for the RRoD and it took Microsoft more than year (instead of hours on release day) to be proactive about the issue. That's why Nintendo does not get its chops busted. It has first-class customer service.
