The series could drop to a 10 million selling franchise by then, But even with that level of sales Activision would be made to axe it. Until EA, Take-Two, Ubisoft or Bethesda comes up with a franchise that starts outselling CoD by a big margin Activision will carry that franchise forward for as many years as it can.

I don't think it will die at all this gen, but I don't think it'll be as dominant as it was in the 7th gen.

I can't say much since I predicted the decline would begin with Black Ops (I thought MW2 would be the peak)...but the peak wasn't until MW3.

Would sure love to see it die. Even though sales didn't peak till MW3, quality peaked at CoD4 or MW2 (depending who you ask, CoD4 if you ask me)...so it's good to see sales finally representing the decline in quality.

At worst I see it doing 2.5m per platform. This years COD will be important to see where its goes, end of gen transition was always going to be messy so the last 2 entries were always going to suffer with last gen owners being less active and current gen owners not being that large a userbase
