I don't think it's that bad. It does prevent sites from rushing out previews and gives everyone a chance put out their previews at the same time. Nobody has an unfair advantage. I feel that as long as embargoes are set within reasonable time frames (unlike Assassin's Creed Unity), they're not necessarily bad.

Besides the game has already had a ton of coverage. This is just the final piece of information before reviews drop.

they could write previews based on Demos and what that played at events they just could not write previews on the final version of the game (which I am fine with). I think its a combination of what TheGoldenBoy said and they want to minimize spoilers.

That's a good point about the spoilers. Marty Sliva of IGN said that when they were featuring the game they were given specific things to show because From Software wanted to avoid spoilers. They said they were able to see some of other stuff in the game that hadn't been shown before, but weren't allowed to write about due to spoilers.

yep. They had no issues with previews from Demos or Events because they controlled what was being shown, with the full game they want to protect the experiance for gamers they have worked so hard on to create.

Yeah if I remember correctly at every event it was the same demo again and again.

Any worthy reviewer wouldn't finish their review until they'd at least had the opportunity to experience all the multiplayer elements at least once. When do the servers go online I wonder?

This is my only worry for the reviews. You have co-op, PVP and the Chalice Dungeons. These are an integral part of the overall game and I can't see how a reviewer can assess Bloodborne's full potential if they haven't got access to these.

It's hardly a problem when the embargo lifts 10 days before the game launches.

I've been under the impression that they have access to at least the chalice dungeons, I could be wrong.

If you ask me, I think it is on the dev to ensure the professional reviewers are able to play the game properly. It should be importent to them as reviews affect sales. In every medium the expectation is that reviews come out at least the day before something releases, so if the dev does this it increases their chances of better reviews because most reviewers are going to get their review out when people still care to read them...

Like I said if I am a dev I would work with reviewers because it could affect my bottom line in the long term.
