I feel that as long as embargoes are set within reasonable time frames (unlike Assassin's Creed Unity), they're not necessarily bad. Besides the game has already had a ton of coverage. they could write previews based on Demos and what that played at events they just could not write previews on the final version of the game (which I am fine with). I think its a combination of what TheGoldenBoy said and they want to minimize spoilers.
