I would not say so.

It used to be a yearly franchise now it seems that it's one every 2 years.

Yes it is. Remakes and major spin-offs count. The "traditional" mindset is just an alibi to handwave away major releases people don't want to count, as if Hyrule Warriors, OoT3D, MM3D, and WWHD weren't the most important releases of their consoles at the time.

"No, it's not an annual franchise, unless you count all the games that make it an annual franchise."

The 2nd column makes no fucking sense to me, what makes it secondary?? Is it the same Link as a past game??
This line "The second column also counts, these are games related to another one in the series, but still main entries. Basically, every game that starts with the words "The Legend of" counts." isnt all that helpful as all games are related to one another.

Well, you could indeed take both the first and the second as one column, those are the 'main games' afterall. I divided them because those in the second are somehow related to one in the first, whether they are a sequel (MM, ALBW), or follow through on lore (FS, ST). The ones in the first column are truly stand-alone.

yeap.
they should name each game with the year of release.
cant wait for zelda 2016.

All the games in the second column should be in the first. They are all part of the timeline.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I tend to agree somewhat, just not in the way people usually take the term 'annual franchise'. Only in the way that we don't get 'main-line' entries or updated versions every year, and even with spin-offs and remakes there's still a couple years here and there where nothing is released, but, with those, they do keep the series alive almost every year.

They are, but I tried to convey they are sequels or rely on lore of other games. Basically, those in the second column don't have the same impact as those in the first. This also correlates in popularity or sales more or less, with a couple exceptions. I'll try to come up with headers for those columns that are more clear though .

Personally, yeah, I think they should be counted too. Especially while those remakes and spin-offs are being sold at full price, and are being marketed as major releases.

I do believe there's a difference between Zelda and what people usually imagine when you say 'anualized franchise', but the term does technically still fit.

not annually maybe every 2 years. there would still be a year without zelda.
