Forums - Gaming - Does Anyone Feel as if Last Generation Graphics Look Blurry And Horrible Now?

The Wii U has more 1080p 60 frame games than the PS4 my friend.  Anything from Nintendo looks perfect, buttery smooth.

Not, it doesn't ^^; I have no idea where this started (I've seen it stated several times), but the WiiU only has a handful of 1080p/60fps retail titles (including both locked and peak variables). Heck, if i remember correctly the PS4 has more 1080p/60fps titles than the WiiU has 1080p titles in general.

OT: I've felt that way since about 2010; it's what pushed me to start buying all my multi-plats on PC. I recently started playing Yakuza 4 on the PS3 and the blur, jaggies, flat textures and awful environment models are a constant irritation. Fortunately it's still a great game though, which is usually enough for me to bear with such things.

I'm glad 1080p with decent AA has finally become the standard though (at least on the PS4). Will be fun to see how console graphics develop over the next few years.

I didn't until I plugged in AC: Rogue right after playing AC: Unity.....

Yep agree. Compare a game like destiny for example... su 720p on PS3 and 1080 on PS4. Actually playing the Demo on PS3 is what made buy a PS4.

Also I got bioshock infinite for ps3 on my backlog and I believe I wont be playing it. STarted playing and the sub 720p resolution and worse anti aliasing destrys the game for me.

Still cant understand why MGS4, Uncharted 2 and 3 still look so great. I believe it depend on the engine/developer.

by the way, bad resolution is what made me jump from consoles to PC during 6th generation. It was laughable comparing Vice City on my monitor to the PS2 version.

Then when 7th generation came in with 720p/1080p I came back to consoles.

To be honest, if anything, I can barely tell the difference between this and last generation. This must be the most limp advancement in console generation leaps I've seen:

This.

Also I keep thinking last gen is PS2/GC/XB era.

Fuck was that really 15 years ago?

I always though last gen felt blurry even in 2007-2008, coming from a PC perspective.

The 720p or less really kills it when using a full hd tv.

That is why people really want 1080p this gen, and the 900p shenanigans  on some games and WiiU still on 720p makes people angst.

Yet Smash has 1080p 60FPS. :P

So was Ridge Racer 7 back in 2006, shall we start pretending 720p (and often lower) wasn't the PS3's standard? :p

The WiiU is clearly more capable than the PS3 and 360, but IQ wise its standards are grounded quite firmly in the 7th gen, due to both choice and the WiiU's own limitations. I doubt that's an issue for many current/future WiiU owners, but it is to some like me.

It's a hard life being an IQ whore :p

Wii games look awful on an HD TV.

otherwise no.

I always complained that the PS3 graphics were blurry... the majority of the games... I hated that.

This generation is a bit blurry yet in some games.

Yes, the Wii U is a console that has the power that would fit better in the "7th gen consoles" however, each gen is not defined by power, it is defined on when they are released. I love my Wii U. Just like I loved my Wii, even though it only had 480P.
