And if they remake the past 5 zeldas again, they should be just as great and you will still be happy? That's how it works right? Personally, I think zelda has been consistently good since like 1995. I can't continue to say that if they don't make more games.

No, but they won't, because remaking a game more than once or that only recently came out is stupid. Remaking 10+ year old games isn't. Two original Zelda games came out since Skyward Sword did in 2011. That was less than 4 years ago. A new mainline console one is coming out this year. Stop complaining.

I hope they think like you. I hope they think remaking games more than once is stupid because that means I won't have to worry about any more remakes because at this pace, they won't have new content to remake. They did prove they aren't above reusing entire portions of games though so that's still unsettling.

By the end of this generation, Nintendo will have released at least 5 Zelda games on their platforms. Of these 5 games, 3 are remakes and another rehashes the overworld from A Link to the Past. What happened to this great franchise? The previous generation we had 4 entirely new Zelda games. No rehashing overworlds or remakes. Is Nintendo having trouble deciding where to take the Legend of Zelda next?

As long as new Zelda are very quality games no need for worry, ALBW is great game and Zelda U looks like will be one of the best Zelda games.

This gen is great for Zelda fans, 3 probably best Zelda remakes and great two new Zelda games.

I would really like if we had one new Zelda and one remake per generation for console, just like this gen for Wii U.

Other thing, TP Wii is GC generation Zelda and DS Zelda games are probably worst Zelda games.

There's consistently been a new Zelda title released every 2 years since Ocarina of Time... Sometimes less than that, but never more.

I thought those were the only 3 remakes they made? Therefore they would be the 3 best remakes. You have me there.

That's still the case...

If you had never played Majora's Mask, then I suppose it would be a new game to you. If you had never played Wind Waker, I suppose it would be a new game to you. If you had never played OoT, I suppose it would have been a new game to you. If you had never played ALttP, I suppose ALBW would have been an entirely new game to you. I agree with you there.

2007 - Phantom Hourglass

2009 - Spirit Tracks

2011 - Skyward Sword

2013 - A Link Between Worlds

2015 - Zelda U

The remakes are just bonuses and don't fit into this schedule.

That's a good representation but in my case I am still upset that ALBW reused so much of ALttP. This might be fine, but this is coupled with the fact that Nintendo is remaking so many other Zelda games at the same time. It's been 4 years since anything genuinely new. This is still assuming Zelda U makes it this year. When you represent it by generation instead of year, it also looks even worse.

I'm not counting MM3D, OOT3D, or Windwaker HD in my initial statement. ALttP and ALBW might share a practically the same game world, but they are different games.

1998 - Ocarina of Time

2000 - Majora's Mask

2001 - Oracle series (Not developed by Nintendo)

2002 - Windwaker

2004 - Four Swords Adventures and Minish Cap (Minish Cap not develiped by Nintendo)

2006 - Twlight Princess

2007 - Phantom Hourglass

2009 - Spirit Tracks

2011 - Skyward Sword

2013 - A Link Between Worlds

2015 - Zelda U
