Well if its that easy to google and find it and google is easily accessible to everyone with an internet connection, I do think it will be an issue

I know it's easy to stream. I do it all the time But the quality can be shit and if there was a cheap, legal way to do it I'd pay the money for it. Frankly I think Vue has too many channels at the moment that will probably drive the cost of it up.

Well thats the thing though, $60/month price range isn't cheap... Infact, its quite expensive specially when you consider what it offers... Sure, you get some live sports and tv shows but at the sametime, you can watch live sports online for free and its easy to find + services such as Netflix and HBO have tons of tv shows and movies for a very cheap monthly price. Heck, HBO specially will have movies and tv shows at the sametime as cable tv will because they are one of the premium channels for that type of a service.

And specially when you consider just how bad the cable tv model really is compared to HBO and Netflix... Most of the channels have fuck all to watch and when they do have a show/movie that you want to watch, you consistantly get interrupted by tons of ads which breaks the immersion as well as many different things... And of course, you have to watch it on their time and not yours so if you want to see an entire season of blah show, you can't on a standard plan (but I am presuming you can in Vue if the season has ended). But yea, if this thing also has ads, I think it will just add to why it might not do so well if its priced at the $60/month price range but we will see how it turns out. Who knows, maybe this is exactly what people want but I highly doubt it at that price range

Completely agree about the price. It needs to be $40 max to be a viable service. I personally wouldn't pay more than $30.

Services like Netflix doesn't go bankrupt with its cheap prices, why would Sony go bankrupt? Heck, Cable TV doesn't even have the movies that netflix offers on their standard plans

This isn't a netflix type service. It's live TV with catch up and cloud storage. I'm not sure what other cable services charge for those channels in the US but in the UK you can pay up to £60 ($90?) a month for cable, the most expensive being Sky.

Yea but can't you watch those live sports online for free though? I have watched hockey online for free and it was live

You probably can and some sports might be legal to do so. But each country is different. For instance Premier League football in England is only on premium channels while in other countries its not worth as much and might be on free channels. TV/movies hot from filming is of high value while a a year later its not as valuable, Netflix is made up mostly of old movies that's why it's cheap. It you want newer movies and TV you have to watch live TV premium channels or rent for $5+. Or stream illeagally.

Point is, if PS vue offers premium content (live sports, live tv on premium channels, premium channels that show a lot of up to date movies) then you will have to pay for it. If it just offers a lot of free cables channels then not so much. This is not netflix, PS already offer TV/Movie rental far superior to Netflix but it's not PS Vue

If its $10/month, it has a chance otherwise, its not gonna do too well imo

What cable service charges $10/month for HD television?

Well I doubt they will be very successful at all if they are trying to compete with Cable when a service like Netflix offers countless TV shows and movies for $10 a month without any ads... The only good thing about Cable TV is that they get some shows faster than Netflix but apart from that, Cable TV has zero advantage over Netflix, specially for that price so if all this is, is that its Cable TV on the internet with similar price ranges, its probably gonna do terribly

By countless TV shows, you mean they miss out on major network shows and are missing a ton of content including any live content.

While I understand Netflix has convinced many to cut the cord, you're greatly exagerrated the content difference.

Well, netflix is just an example I used cause there are more and more services such as HBO that are doing the samething with signficantly cheaper prices than what you would get in cable TV. And yes, I get the whole "live content" but if its sports and stuff, there are plenty of websites that will show that live for free and its easy to find them too.

And I mean, there has to be quality as well as quantity cause on Netflix, there are tons of movies you can watch which are not avaliable on standard cable as well as TV shows and same goes for HBO. Heck, when HBO stops doing their "must have service provider" nonsense and become independent which will be very soon, you will have tons of highly rated shows such as Game of Thrones on your HBO subscription and they will be avaliable right then and there without having to wait. I have had cable TV before and the reason we no longer care about cable TV is cause most of the time, there is nothing to watch where as on Netflix and other services online, there are tons of things to watch, both old and new.

And after HBO, most likely, the rest will follow like AMC/FX although a few of their stuff is on Netflix like Breaking Bad and Walking Dead but granted its not as those get aired

Good luck to them but I don't expect it to do well.

You can't use illegal streaming as an excuse to pick one paid service with another. Do you realize how pointless the discussion is if your trump is to just watch it illegally (because why buying anything if you can get it for free).

Depending on how much this costs and if they offer the channels I watch, I'll gladly dump Comcast for those.

Realistically, it would have to cost roughly $50 a month or less to be worthwhile for me. As far as channels go, I'd want BBC America and NESN.

Make that happen, and I'm all over this.

Well I am not saying like live TV shows like watching the walking dead for free but I mean live sports which I have seen many sites streaming sports live for free and depending on the sport, it is completely legal. And not to mention, I have seen so many people watch live sports for free just by googling it and the results are like the first few links that come up... And of course, this is exactly the sorta people who Sony will have to deal with when it comes to Vue cause why would anyone pay $60/month price range if they can watch the live sports for free and it takes little to no effort to do so? TV shows and Movies take some effort to find but live sports hardly takes any from my experience

I've added a breakdown of What Vue is to the OP. I don't think it's worth making another thread for.
