Forums - Sales - The Order 1886 sales nearly 600,000 copies in 2 days. #SmearCampaign=Failed

For a brand new IP this is really good. It will almost certainly get its 1 million sales (especially when you factor in digital) and may be primed for a sequel. I really have to play this game for myself because I have heard every possible variation of opinions possible for this title. And I have loved games that I would have otherwise missed had I listened to popular opinions (reviews).

Next you will tell me that Cod: Ghosts is a great game cause it sold over 10 million... Just deal with its low score... Jeez

I hate all Call of Duty titles with a passion. So I would NEVER tell you that. I'm not saying it's a great game because of sales. I'm saying the sales are well deserved because it's a great game. And I'm saying its a great game because I've PLAYED IT. Have you? lol

I havn't but considering how many people are saying its a mediocre game including my friends who some are also Playstation fans that have played it, the chances are that its a pretty mediocre game... And before you start thinking its a conspiracy, take a deep breath and look at what your saying cause it is so very wrong

It deserves that and more. Great game

It's not a smear campaign. The game wasn't good.

The game was not only good, it was even very good. Not perfect but very good. And I play on PC most of the time. There is hardly a game besides TLOU where the world and characters are crafted with so much attention to detail.

The criticism this game got was unreal and mostly it seems those reviewers simply wanted the game to be another game. The Gameinformer review (7,78) was spot on imho. Could pave the way for an amazing sequel if the right points are addressed.

The game was simply a bit to low on value for 60$ which, with wrong expectations, was the main reason for the critique. I can see the game sell very well in the long run when they reduce the price!

Also there are no digital sales included in those numbers, so..not bad.

The majority of critics and customers alike think the game is mediocre. Think it's the customers that were duped into buying this cause of the hype. I still think this whole smear campaign theory is BS, it's only just a mediocre game, nothing more.
I haven't played it personally, I'm just going by the consensus from metacritic as well as some friends and acquaintances that have played it. It's a game, it's not bad, it's not great, it just is.

That simply is not true. The majority of reviewers, yes. The majority of actual customers enjoyed the game for what it was.

You think that sales = quality? Cute.
The game already sold much more than it deserves.
And yes, I have played the game.
The game is really mediocre in all aspects except the graphics. That's also why it sold. Graphics + TV ads = sales
It's a generic shooter with a lot of QTE's. They even failed to use the QTE's in the correct way. The story is forgettable as well and I think I don't need to talk about the length here.
The worst part is the people defending this just because it's an exclusive...
If the only thing you have to offer are pretty graphics, then you're doing it wrong.

Also, I think you meant "sells" and not "sales." Sells is a verb, sales is a noun.

Well.. I am glad that the imaginary smear campaign for a painfully average game that got average scores failed. It might sell pretty well once it goes down to bargain bin prices, if people don't decide to rent it before hand.

Yup they probably made a huge profit already, the game couldn't have cost very much to make, it's only 5 hours long he he he he he
