I think it's more interesting to ask if vita hardware can beat mario kart 7 software, since the numbers are actually close.

What does that even have to do with the sales? Nothing on that list will save the Vita. Nothing. Also, quality > quantity. 

Everything. 3DS is waaaaaaay more sucessful than Vita, but Japanese 3rd parties are withdrawing from it to make games elsewhere (mainly PSVita & PS4), so it means the 3DS audience doesn't seem make a interesting market : install base matters not.

Also, Vita has quality titles.

VGChartz shows that the 3DS has 953 games while the Vita has 563, so your argument holds no water. In fact, it would take years for the Vita to catch up in terms of releases and even longer to accumulate all of the critical and commercial success the 3DS' games have gotten.

I never said the Vita didn't have quality titles, but the 3DS clearly has more to offer.

It's crazy how popular that game is.  I am not very into handhelds these days but I had a coworker who let me try out his 3DS and I was very impressed with it.

An even more interesting thought just came to me:  If you add up all the PSP and Playstation 3 sales, they are close to the number of Playstation 2s sold.  Now move forward to today and you have a strong selling Playstation 4 but weak handheld sales numbers.  Did the PSP eat into Playstation 3 sales somewhat?

Or when the communist Illuminati from Mars stop their intergalactic conspiracy to underrate Sony games, right? :p
