Forums - Nintendo - Worse Scenario: Nintendo Going Third Party Or Being Bought By Apple?

I'd love nintendo to go third party, I wouldn't have to buy two consoles then. Smash Bros and Mario Kart on my ps4.... I can dream.

Regardless, I'll officially retire from gaming if that happens, but i know it wont, so CHEERS!

I don't really understand this attitude. Why would you retire from gaming just because Nintendo games are played on a machine that says PlayStation or Xbox. The games are the same. Are you really that attatched to Nintendo Hardware you wouldn't touch the very same games because they are on a different colored box?

I would honestly find being bought by apple less desirable. Not that I dislike that company, I can't see them actually getting any use out of the company. Honestly, going Third Party would actually be a best case scenario for Nintendo. They would be able to devote all their resources to making games, without the costs of hardware, and would pretty much immediately start turning a huge profit.

Not entirely sure Apple CAN buy Nintendo though

I think the mentality comes from hardcore Nintendo fans believing that Nintendo is somehow the only company that cares about games. It's a fairly blind and ignorant mentality, considering that Sony has done nothing but prove the exact opposite for the last 2 decades. Some people are just that devoted to a single brand that they've entered an almost cultist mental state, and if their "god" disapears, they'll commit a sort of mass suicide (metaphorically speaking).

Going third party would be great for Nintendo. Hell, I might actually start buying their games again.

Oh, they definitely could. Apple is worth far far more money than people give them credit for.

I would say that Apple buying Nintendo would be worse than going third party.

Of these two terrible scenarios, I would go with Apple...

Nintendo F2P on iPhones would make me cringe, and their freedom in developing games would be limited
I would rather buy a PS4 than an iPhone/pad to play Nintendo games

I'm pretty sure they are referring to the structure of Japanese laws not Apple not having the resources.
