So I have a Wii U, Smart TV and blu ray player, all of which do what the apple TV does for the most part (the TV and blu ray playerbeing far suyperior to the apple tv). I have been waiting for the HBO now app to release for a long time. But now, to use it, I would need to buy another box to hang out of my TV.

It's pretty stupid for HBO to do this. The only thing that makes sense is Apple is paying a ton to have it done. HBO is guaranteed losing subscriptions because of this.

Bet that it is only a time exclusive

I have been waitingh for this for so long. Hulu, netflix and hbo. That's all I needed without cable. Now they make me require the stupid freaking apple TV when I have more devices than I need already.

Reports are stating that HBO said in a press release that is Apple devices and on PCs..

Still $5 too expensive. You'll still need to pay for internet and by that time you would be paying almost the same as a basic package with HBO.

The whole point in this thing was to not need cable and still watch it on my tv quick and easy. No screen mirroring, no lenghty hdmi's. Maybe it is timed like one of the others said.

You lost me there. So $40 for internet + $15 for HBO now = $55. Whereas $50 for cable + $40 for internet + $15 for HBO = $105
